"Everywhere I go I'm asked if I think the university stifles writers," Flannery O'Connor once said. "My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a best seller that could have been prevented by a good teacher."
Put another way, there's a novel in everyone and most of them should stay there. Much the same can be said for the fantasies of left-wing radio host Mike Malloy, situated as he is on the deranged by choice end of the dial. Malloy, who proved a bit much even for Air America, can't abide what he perceives as hatred from conservatives. His way of fighting back is through hateful speech. Yes, the irony is lost on him. He's become what he claims to loathe. (Audio after the jump)
Here, for example, is Malloy ranting about GOP congresswoman Michele Bachmann and her husband Marcus, who has long been maligned by liberals as a closeted gay (audio) --
On July 31st a joining of conservative groups will celebrate the first annual ex-gay pride month -- ex-gay pride month, you know. The Family Research Council's legislative affiliate, the FRC Action, who I've told you about many times, will officially launch two new ex-gay rights organization, plural, Voice of the Voiceless, and the other one is called Equality and Justice for All, unless you're queer, then you know, forget you. This will all be held at a dinner in Washington. Michele Bachmann has been invited to speak.
I wonder if she'll bring her husband and I hope, you know what I would like to see? I really would really like to see this, I would love to see this. If she would come with Marcus and let him have on a fur collar and she has the leash. Really! I don't know why, it's just the perverse side of me would like to see that. I would, I would pay twenty bucks to see that. I would pay, somehow I'd find a hundred dollars to see that, Michele Bachmann walking around the stage at this ex-gay pride dinner or whatever it's called with Marcus on a leash with a fur collar. Or, or one of those studded collars, you know, with the spikes on it. Whooo, Lord, Lord, Lord.
Heck, 'cause that's what gay people do, right?
Imagine the phony convulsions from the left if Limbaugh, Hannity or Beck uttered the exact same words to describe Barney Frank and his husband.
