CNN Host, Michael Cohen Joke About Throwing Trump Supporters in Jail

November 22nd, 2021 4:04 PM

CNN reminded the world on Monday afternoon that their intellectually lazy and poisonously partisan world exists far outside the bounds of reality as weekday afternoon CNN Newsroom co-host Alisyn Camerota found it worth spending 13 minutes and 16 seconds speaking with former Donald Trump lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen to celebrate his release from house arrest.

But worse yet, the pair joked that, like Cohen, Trump supporters belong in prison, meaning as many as 70 million people would be worthy of being jailed even though it’s doubtful “prisons are big enough” to fit them all.

The quips came after Camerota asked Cohen whether “Trump will ever move on from talking about his — claiming that he won when in fact he lost by millions.”

Cohen answered there’s “no chance” because Trump “has a fragile ego, so he cannot allow that to ever happen,” but more importantly, it’s “his goal...to convince you that he won the election and he's done that with this percentage of Americans that are so deep into the cult of Trump.”

Adding that he “know[s] about the cult of Trump” as “one of its leaders, maybe one of its founders,” Cohen continued to smear the tens of millions of non-Democrats across the country (who voted for Trump for any number of reasons):

I see exactly the stupid of people as I walk in the city or I get certain text messages on occasion from individuals who are so entrenched into this cult that they can't see straight.

Camerota followed up by wanting to know: “What’s the answer to getting out of it?”

Cohen replied that it might have to be “incarceration” as it worked “for me, anyway” in turning away from Trump and GOP.

Before closing with questions about what’s next for Cohen in his life (and a recent meeting with Kayne West), Camerota boasted: “I’m not sure the prisons are big enough for all of that.”

Again, it was clear the pair were joking, but when you’re CNN with such a befuddlement toward and/or deep-seated hatred for anyone and everyone who doesn’t think or vote as they do, there’s a reason such jokes come so easily to these people.

CNN wasting our time with pointless segments and joking about jailing half the country’s voters was made possible thanks to the endorsement of advertisers such as Carvana, Coventry Direct, Dell, MRHFM (Mesothelioma Law Firm), Sandals, and Walmart. ALISYN CAMEROTA: Do you think that Donald Trump will ever move on from talking about his — claiming that he won when in fact he lost by millions?

MICHAEL COHEN: No chance. No chance. Because, again, it would mean that he would have to acknowledge that he's a loser, that he lost to — oh, my God, Joe Biden. How could I, the great Donald, lose to Joe — to sleepy Joe Biden. It is just not possible. His mind — he is, like I said, he has a fragile ego, so he cannot allow that to ever happen. Not in his mind, and what his goal is to convince you that he won the election and he's done that with this percentage of Americans that are so deep into the cult of Trump and, trust me, I know about the cult of Trump. I was one of its leaders, maybe one of its founders and I see exactly the stupid of people as I walk in the city or I get certain text messages on occasion from individuals who are so entrenched into this cult that they can't see straight.

CAMEROTA: What’s the answer to getting out of it?

COHEN: Maybe incarceration. It was for me, anyway.

CAMEROTA: I’m not sure the prisons are big enough for all of that.
