CNN’s Karem Melts Down, Claims Trump Believes ‘Every Immigrant in this Country’ Is ‘A Killer’

CNN political analyst, Playboy correspondent, and Sentinel Newspapers editor Brian Karem experienced another delusional meltdown on CNN Tuesday afternoon, falsely claiming that President Trump has used MS-13 to label “every immigrant in this country” as “killer and thug and a thief.”

Karem was speaking to sympathetic CNN Newsroom afternoon host Brooke Baldwin, telling her that the Trump administration has wrecked American discourse with their “disrespect to those coming here seeking a better life.” Trump never said such a thing, but sure.

Karem spoke in two parts in the 2:00 p.m. Eastern hour with the first part lashing out at Trump: “Every immigrant in this country isn't a killer and thug and a thief and he’s kind of equated all immigrants, put them in that status when, actually, the crime rates in the immigrant communities are much smaller than in the general communities.”

He later reiterated his hope that Trump doesn’t “want to shutdown the government” and “not every immigrant is a killer” because “[t]he idea of even saying that is so offensive on so many levels that, you know, it just — it prompts a wow.”

Right on cue, Baldwin went along, fretting that the President tweeted about an Indianapolis Colt player being killed in a car accident allegedly by an illegal immigrant. Out of the blue, she felt the need to not talk about this being a scourge that must be addressed, but proclaim that “people” (read: illegal immigrants) “are here for all kinds of incredibly valid and patriotic reasons.”

Once again, this is the left, ladies and gentlemen as they’re more concerned about defending illegal immigrants writ large than focusing on how such deadly events could have been avoided.

Karem returned a few minutes later and came out swinging by giving his best Jim Acosta impression in condemning Chief of Staff John Kelly’s comments caught by The Washington Post:

Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. Oh, hell with it. They're too lazy to get off — arses. What? Where does the level of political discourse gone in this country? There is such a disrespect to those coming here seeking a better life which is pretty much everyone who’s been here.

Referring to the dark blue D.C. suburbs in Maryland, Karem bemoaned how he’s “dealt with stories in Montgomery County, Prince Georges County, Maryland, where people are afraid they're going to be shipped out at any day and they've been here for, you know, what, 20, 30, 40 years” because of evil, old Trump.

Karem has gained a reputation as anything but a non-partisan journalist with his charades both on-air and in White House press briefing. Therefore, it’s no surprise that he’s paid to appear on CNN’s airwaves.

BRIAN KAREM: First of all, every immigrant in this country isn't a killer and thug and a thief and he’s kind of equated all immigrants, put them in that status when, actually, the crime rates in the immigrant communities are much smaller than in the general communities. So, that’s a disingenuous statement and let’s have a shutdown. I guess he’s got to play that card because after you’ve accused all the Democrats of being treasonous, you're going to find it hard to reach a bipartisan agreement on anything on the Hill these days. So, maybe he's preemptively saying that because of what he said during a speech yesterday. I mean, with this President, you're never really sure. There's always something that is behind something that's behind something that's behind something and the problem is with that statement, not only is it a wow that you want to have a shutdown, who wants to shut down the government? Seriously.

BROOKE BALDWIN: Right. No.

KAREM: You don't want to shut down the government. The other part of that wow, like I said, is that not every immigrant is a killer. The idea of even saying that is so offensive on so many levels that, you know, it just — it prompts a wow.

BALDWIN:  Right. Listen, I don't know what the President is thinking. But I do know that, you know, he keeps tweeting about — we were just telling this story about Indianapolis Colt player and maybe in that case, you know — but certainly, you're right, people are here for all kinds of incredibly valid and patriotic reasons.

(....)

KAREM: Wow.

BALDWIN: Some saying — some too lazy to get off their asses. I've now said this out loud three or four times throughout the show and discussing this and I still can't quite wrap my head around the language. And he's making this overarching point which is, hey, the president did something a lot of folks in our base didn't do, added all those hundreds of thousands of folks in this country who didn't give the government their information, making it that 1.8 million number. But still. What?

KAREM: Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. Oh, hell with it. They're too lazy to get off — arses. What? Where does the level of political discourse gone in this country? There is such a disrespect to those coming here seeking a better life which is pretty much everyone who’s been here. Their forefathers came here for that reason. I'm only second generation here, Brooke. I mean, for the love of heavens, to sit there and say they're too lazy to — maybe they're too afraid of what's happening in this country. Maybe they're scared. I have dealt with stories in Montgomery County, Prince Georges County, Maryland, where people are afraid they're going to be shipped out at any day and they've been here for, you know, what, 20, 30, 40 years. That’s — there's a palpable, real fear brought about by this administration and this administration has a disconnect between the things that they do and say and what happens when they do and say them and they haven't come to grips with that yet.
