David Bozell Joins Bulldog Award Winner Dana Loesch on Her Radio Show

In remarks on The Dana Show Tuesday with host Dana Loesch, Media Research Center (MRC) President David Bozell announced the MRC had honored Loesch with its 2026 Bulldog Award for Outstanding Radio Talk Show Host, praising her as “principled” and someone who “brings receipts.” He credited her consistency, saying, “She brings it every single day,” calling her “a terrific host” with nationwide syndication.

Bozell said the recognition fits within the broader mission of the MRC’s Bulldog Awards, which are designed to highlight journalists and commentators who challenge what he sees as dominant narratives in elitist media. He argued that traditional awards like the Pulitzer Prize too often reward coverage that reflects ideological bias, most recently The Washington Post's reporting on government spending and reform efforts.

Bozell called out the Post's negative reporting of efforts to reduce federal bureaucracy and spending, noting that President Trump was elected by more than 77 million Americans with a mandate to cut waste and debt. Despite that, he said, elitist media outlets frame those efforts negatively.

Loesch brought up a new Rasmussen survey suggesting that a majority of Americans believe intensely negative media coverage of political figures may contribute to real-world violence, including the three assassination attempts against President Trump.

Bozell tied the issue to the fallout from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting, where late-night commentary and jokes sparked debate about tone and responsibility in political media. Bozell argued that reactions from elitist media figures illustrated a tendency to close ranks rather than reflect on broader concerns about coverage.

Bozell concluded that the Bulldog Awards exist to recognize alternative reporting and to encourage greater balance, accountability, and independence in journalism.
