MSNBC's Ruhle Ends Show Promoting '90s George Carlin Clip Trashing Pro-Lifers

May 6th, 2022 2:52 PM

On Tuesday's The 11th Hour show, pro-abortion MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle concluded the show by promoting an old clip of liberal comedian George Carlin attacking pro-life conservatives which has been popular with liberals in the past couple of days.

In the clip the late Carlin, from a 1996 standup performance, accused conservatives of not caring about children after they are born, declaring that they are actually "anti-woman," which delighted Ruhle.

Returning from a commercial break, the final segment of the show began with a clip of an unidentified woman protesting in favor of abortion and ranting about the likely overturn of Roe v. Wade: "I've been at this for over 50 years, fighting and arguments, and I cannot believe that we're having to do this all over again to re-win a right that's ours that we had. And how dare they take this away?"

Ruhle then appeared live and set up the clip of Carlin by informing viewers that it had gone viral on Twitter with people who feel "dismay and frustration" over the conservative-leaning Supreme Court's expected decision:

The last thing before we go tonight, "Once you're born, you're on your own." When the news of the impending strikedown of Roe versus Wade broke last night, people rushed to Twitter to share their dismay and frustration. And the comedy -- the comedy of the late George Carlin from 1996 seemed to strike an important and familiar chord. Carlin was never one to pull any punches as you'll see in this now-viral video."

The clip of Carlin began: "Boy, these conservatives are really something, aren't they? They're all in favor of the unborn -- they will do anything for the unborn -- but once you're born, you're on your own."

He was then seen holding up his blurred out middle finger to signify how conservatives allegedly feel about children as the audience laughed. The clip continued:

Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months. After that, they don't even want to know about you. They don't want to hear from you. No nothing. No neonatal care, no day care, no Head Start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you're pre-born, you're fine, if you're pre-schooled, you're (bleeped out).

No "fact checkers" would object to the cartoon that pro-life legislators vote against all day care, welfare, food stamps, and Head Start.

After an editing jump, Carlin further ranted: "They're not pro-life. You know what they are? Anti-woman -- simple as it gets -- anti-woman. They don't like them."

Ruhle then showed her approval of the anti-conservative smear as she wrapped up the show: "The late great George Carlin takes us off the air tonight. And on that note, I wish you all a very good night. And from all of our colleagues from across the networks of NBC News, thank you for staying up late with us. I'll see you again tomorrow."
