Appearing as a guest in a pre-recorded interview aired on Friday's CNN Tonight to discuss his endorsement of Hillary Clinton's presidential bid, actor Morgan Freeman dismissed questions about her having a "trust issue" as being "just made-up stuff" and "political hogwash."

After Freeman explained what he believes her qualifications are for being President to justify his endorsement, CNN host Don Lemon followed up by bringing up the word "trust." Lemon asked, "For you, it sounds like this is about trust, who you can trust."

After the liberal actor answered, "Yes, yes, absolutely," Lemon challenged him with the issue of Clinton's honesty: "I want you to take a look at this. This is an exchange from a questioner from CNN's recent town hall with Secretary Clinton. It's about the trust issue. Take a listen."

After playing the town hall clip, The CNN anchor followed up: "Do you think it's a good enough answer? Because the polls show she has a trust issue. Number one, is it a good enough answer? And in your mind, do you think she has a trust issue?"

Freeman dismissed the substance of questioning her trustworthiness:

Well, I'm -- not with me, she doesn't. I don't know -- I can't say that she doesn't because -- all you need in some cases for people is to say it. Just put it out there. And it gets legs. The Clintons have been beat down ever since way back.

So she's just going along with that legacy that she's inherited over the amount of time she's been in politics, which is a long time. This is -- I think this is just made-up stuff, just, you know, it's political hogwash.
