NBC Fawns Over Harry Mourning Roe at UN, CBS Hypes CEO Paying for Abortion Travel

July 19th, 2022 11:24 AM

Tuesday’s edition of Today on NBC fawned over Prince Harry’s illiterate anti-Dobbs hot take at the United Nations, calling it “one of his most significant speeches” while CBS Mornings also got in on the abortion activism by hyping Goldman Sachs chairman and CEO David Solomon’s decision to pay for abortion travel.

At NBC, co-host Sheinelle Jones introduced the segment, “Now to a high profile appearance at the U.N. yesterday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle traveling to New York and honoring Nelson Mandela. The prince also spoke about some of the most urgent and divisive issues of our time. NBC's Joe Fryer has more. Joe, good morning.”

Fryer took the hype to the next level, declaring, “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tend to make headlines wherever they go, and this trip to New York is certainly no exception. While honoring Nelson Mandela the prince had some pretty critical messages for politicians in his adopted country.”

That adopted country mostly doesn’t care what British royals think, but Today is part of the microscopic portion that does and as the pre-recorded portion of the segment began Fryer asserted, “Arriving at the U.N. hand in hand, Duchess Meghan all in sleek black, Prince Harry making one of his most significant speeches to date.”

A clip of the speech was then shown with Harry declaring that, “From the horrific war in Ukraine to the rolling back of constitutional rights here in the United States, we are witnessing a global assault on democracy and freedom.”

Equating Putin’s imperial war of aggression and bombing of civilians with Dobbs was hideous enough, but if Harry also showed just how ill-informed he is. If he is truly interested in democracy, he should embrace Dobbs because Dobbs was a victory for democracy.

However, Fryer wasn’t interested in that. Instead, he took Harry’s constitutional and moral illiteracy and ran with it, “With that remark, the prince appeared to criticize the Supreme Court for its decision to remove federal abortion protections. This followed remarks recently by Meghan to Vogue magazine in which she and feminist Gloria Steinam urged men to be more vocal about the controversial Supreme Court decision.”

Over at CBS Mornings, co-host Vladimir Duthiers promoted Solomon’s decision to promote abortion, “David, it's Vlad. I want to switch gears for a moment and talk about the announcement by Goldman Sachs that company will cover travel expenses for people who need an abortion. How and why did the company make that decision?”

Solomon naturally took the opportunity to pat himself on the back, “Well, my number one priority is to really worry about the health and well-being of our employees. And so after the Supreme Court decision, we looked at our medical policies, and we decided to make sure if anyone needs any medical treatment of any kind and they can't find it locally, that we'll support them to make sure they're being taken care of, because the health and well-being of our employees has always been my number one priority.”

Is it? Or is abortion just convenient? Those questions remained unanswered because CBS didn’t find them interesting.
