Chris Plante: 'CNN Is Part of the Democratic Party's Apparatus'

August 2nd, 2019 3:29 PM

Even to the untrained eye, it is still very obvious that CNN is a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party. A former employee of the network and current radio host Chris Plante joined Thursday’s Tucker Carlson Tonight to discuss the corruption that has seeped into the foundation of the liberal media outlet.

To many watching the Democratic primary debates on Tuesday and Wednesday this past week, it was nearly impossible to deny the implicit bias of the questions, in particular those from Don Lemon. Carlson ostracized Lemon in his inquiry to Plante, “So there was Don Lemon out there, 'The President's racist!' Both questions were basically just a pretext to call the President a racist, he gets a childish thrill from that. Is that a legitimate debate question?”

Plante then unraveled a web of connections between the CNN moderators and members of the Democratic Party. He also noted the set-up of the debates is more for entertainment purposes than informing the voters.

No, I mean honestly, this whole thing is a love-fest. We've got Jake Tapper on there who is a former Democrat hill staffer, he worked for the Democrat who's son married Chelsea Clinton. It's all a rub-a-dub-dub. Dana Bash was married to Jeremy Bash who was an Obama Administration official, now on MSNBC. And then of course there's Don Lemon. There are no hardball questions. There are no gotcha questions. There are no trap questions. They're all going to see each other at Hot Tin Roof on Martha's Vineyard. It's August, they are all going on vacation together in a couple weeks. Their kids play together, they go to school together, it's corrupt. The system is corrupt, what can I tell you? You know perfectly well that it is. We all know perfectly well that it is and it's not really even a political debate. It's a television show. And CNN is part of the Democratic Party's apparatus. That's that.

Seeing as Plante spent many years of his career working at CNN, he was uniquely qualified to comment on the inter-workings of the network and the allegiance they have to the Democrats:

…I've seen it first hand. I still know people that work there and look, I can watch and I know how to read what they are doing and I know most of these people. And they are not terrible people but they are Democrats and the team is the team. It's a team effort that's -- if you don't know that, you haven't been paying attention.

There is no doubt CNN and the rest of the media are part of the conglomerate that makes up the Democratic Party.

FNC's Tucker Carlson Tonight

August 1, 2019

8:55 p.m. Eastern

TUCKER CARLSON: Two nights in a row of debates on CNN. Last night, remarkably, after two years of Russia obsession, Russia and Robert Mueller were not even mentioned. Instead you saw Don Lemon asking questions about the President being a racist, that was the first night. Was the second night any better than the first? Here's a hint, no.

(CLIPS OF DEBATE)

DON LEMON: Why are you the best candidate to heal the racial divide that exists in this country today which has been stoked by the President's racist rhetoric? [SCREEN WIPE] After the President's racist tweets attacking Baltimore and Congressman Elijah Cummings, the Mayor of Baltimore slammed the tweets and said to the President and I quote here "Help us. Send the resources that we need to rebuild America." So what would you do for Baltimore and other cities that need help?

CARLSON: Chris Plante, host of The Chris Plante Show, which is fantastic and worth listening to, had a great time breaking down the first debate with him last night. He is back again tonight to assess his former employer CNN. Chris Plante joins us. So there was Don Lemon out there, "The President's racist!" Both questions were basically just a pretext to call the President a racist, he gets a childish thrill from that. Is that a legitimate debate question?

CHRIS PLANTE: No, I mean honestly, this whole thing is a love-fest. We've got Jake Tapper on there who is a former Democrat hill staffer, he worked for the Democrat who's son married Chelsea Clinton. You know perfectly well that it is. We all know perfectly well that it is and it's not really even a political debate. It's a television show. And CNN is part of the Democratic Party's apparatus. That's that.

CARLSON: That is that. And when you say it is this kind of loose conspiracy of personal affiliation, you are saying that because you've seen it.

PLANTE: Yeah. Oh, yeah I've seen it first hand. I still know people that work there and look, I can watch and I know how to read what they are doing and I know most of these people. And they are not terrible people but they are Democrats and the team is the team. It's a team effort that's -- if you don't know that, you haven't been paying attention.
