On Tuesday afternoon, NewsBusters executive editor Tim Graham appeared on Newsmax TV to discuss leaked revelations from an internal investigation at NBC News regarding Nightly News anchor Brian Williams and his various tall tales told on air.
"With this latest round of reports, do you think Brian Williams will ever sit in that anchor chair again?" Newsmax's John Bachman asked. "I think it's become quite clear" that the "rank and file" of NBC News, particularly the D.C. bureau, is against the anchorman's return, Graham noted.
"What type of money do you think it would take for Brian Williams to go away and be quiet?" Bachman followed up. While Graham didn't take a stab at a dollar figure, he posited that NBC's strategy might be to drive down the buyout offer by dripping out leak after leak so as to decrease "his value on the way out."
