On Tuesday's New Day, CNN's John King touted Bill and Hillary Clinton's participation in a Memorial Day parade in Chappaqua, New York. King played up how "we don't see them together in public all that often," and gushed over how it was apparently "smart on her part" for not taking "any questions about politics."
The journalist continued that the former first lady responded to the media's question by "saying, that's not the reason of this day." King added, "And it's not the reason of this day – so good for her, and good for them to march in the parade there."
One wonders what Mrs. Clinton's excuse was during the 28 days she refused to answer the media's questions before finally taking a handful of questions on May 19, 2015.
The transcript of John King's news brief on Hillary Clinton from Tuesday's New Day on CNN:
JOHN KING: Just a quick look at the pictures here – we don't see them together in public all that often – Bill and Hillary Clinton marching in the Memorial Day parade up in Chappaqua, New York, their home, yesterday. You see them there – the former president and the former secretary of state; and now, the Democratic front-runner. Smart on her part – she refused to take any questions about politics – saying, that's not the reason of this day. And it's not the reason of this day – so good for her, and good for them to march in the parade there.
