In what appeared to be the biggest pro-Hillary rally yet of the fall campaign (with an estimated crowd of 15,000, though it’s likely more than a few in attendance were non-citizens, and thus ineligible to cast a vote), Univision and its sister English-language network, Fusion, once again delivered for their network’s preferred candidate, with a three-hour televised Get-Out-the-Vote extravaganza, titled “Rise Up” on the San Diego side of the U.S. – Mexico border.
Despite promises to the public and sponsors alike that the event would be non-partisan, anti-Trump – and anti-U.S., for that matter – rhetoric was a hallmark of the political rally and concert combo, co-hosted by chief Univision news anchor Jorge Ramos.
To get the drift, listen to this verse that Mexican-American singer Lila Downs belted out.

Buttressing the vitriol against Trump was another constant throughout the concert: refusal to recognize U.S. sovereignty over its own border.
The opening number by the California-based ensemble Los Tigres del Norte, for example, “Somos Más Americanos” (“We’re More American”) not only featured explicit, racially-charged lyrics against Anglos (“We’re more American than the son of the Anglo-Saxon”), but also the historic Mexican lamentation that “they took from us Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, California, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.”
In that same spirit, the concert closed with Puerto Rican leftist singer Residente (René Pérez), who also echoed the event’s “border, schmorder” attitude, in addition to capping the concert with an explicit call to vote for Hillary Clinton, as well as support for the release of unrepentant terrorist bombmaker Oscar López-Rivera.
RENÉ PÉREZ-JOGLAR: Here, we’re not looking for an opportunity, to get another opportunity to be here, San Diego used to belong to Mexico, belongs to Mexico, always has belonged to Mexico, that stuff that we need an opportunity, no. This is ours, too. Another thing, both candidates are very bad, but we have to vote for the least bad one, which is Hillary, because Trump is horrible. But both are very bad. That has to be taken care of. And liberty for Oscar López-Rivera, a political prisoner for 34 years in prison here in the United States.
Leftists and their Democrat allies have been stepping up pressure on President Obama to release López-Rivera, a prominent leader of the Armed Forces of Puerto Rican National Liberation, an organization responsible for the 1974 bombing of Fraunces Tavern in New York that killed four people, in addition to scores of other terrorist bombings in the United States during the 1970s and 1980s. Obama is expected to wait until after the election to announce his decision to release the aging terrorist.
So as not to rock the boat, the establishment media, including Univision, have studiously avoided asking Hillary Clinton her position on López-Rivera’s pending release. But if past is prologue, just remember that back in 1999 it was her husband, former President Bill Clinton, who granted clemency to 14 of López-Rivera’s FALN comrades-in-arms.
