Congressmen raked Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg over the coals for his communications with disgraced medical official Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Congressmen are now coming after Big Tech, and the humiliation of the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Dr. Fauci was only the beginning of woes for liberals. The House Judiciary GOP verified account tweeted out an open letter from Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and James Comer (R-KY) scorching Zuckerberg for coordinating with Fauci.
“Big Tech is out to get conservatives,” the congressmen proclaimed. “Newly released documents indicate that you, personally, communicated with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, about the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The congressmen then issued a series of demands, including documents from Facebook about the platform’s relations with Fauci and moderation decisions about COVID-19 content.
The congressmen who wrote the letter went for the jugular and explained why a Fauci and Facebook alliance was so sinister:
“In light of Facebook’s subsequent censorship of certain COVID-19 content—including content about the pandemic’s origin—these communications with Dr. Fauci raise the prospect that the federal government induced Facebook to censor certain speech in violation of the First Amendment.”
In a damning indictment, the letter recounted: “While censoring and suppressing these types of speech, Facebook amplified sources like the World Health Organization—even though such sources have proven to be conflicted and unreliable in the past.” The World Health Organization misinformed nations around the globe that there was “no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission” of COVID-19 as late as Jan. 14, 2020.
Facebook-owned Instagram reportedly restricted satire of Fauci after his scandalous emails were revealed. “Luke Rudkowski, founder of the independent news outlet We Are Change, reported that when he shared a post that jokes about Fauci recommending ‘face masks over your eyes so you can’t read his leaked emails’ on Instagram, he was told it was ‘missing context’ based on a fact check from USA Today,” Reclaim The Net reported.
Rudkowski was reportedly “forced to delete the post” and told by Instagram that “accounts that repeatedly share false information and their posts won’t appear in certain places on Instagram.”
