A few weeks ago word broke that a high school teacher in Eugene, Oregon, assigned students an activity entitled, “Fantasy Story.”
The assignment, given by Churchill High School teacher Kirk Miller, told students to write about a sexual fantasy that didn’t involve having sex, and included the following instructions:
For those students who were absent, you will write a short story of a paragraph or two. This story is a sexual fantasy that will have NO penetration of any kind of oral sex (no way of passing an STI). You will choose 3 items (romantic music, candles, massage oil, feather, feather boa, flavored syrup, etc.) to use in your story. Your story should show that you can show and receive loving physical affection without having sex.
And parents were pissed.
First of all, ew. Second of all, why!?
Justin McCall, one of the students' fathers, went before the district school board to condemn the assignment and point out how perverted and inappropriate it was, saying that his 10th grade daughter also told him about another assignment the teacher gave in which students were presented with a game wheel made up of sections titled, “anal penetration, oral sex, licking of ear [and] kissing.” The students were reportedly then told to write the initial of a boy or girl that they’d like to experience these sexual acts with.
To make matters worse, McCall's daughter did the assignment so she could get a good grade, but her father said she never got it back.
“Where is the assignment? Why hasn’t she had it turned back to her with her grade on it? What is he doing with it? Is this for his spank bank?” McCall demanded.
If these allegations are true, it sounds to me like this teacher is the definition of a groomer. As a matter of fact, the father even went so far as to say the teacher “verbally sexually abused” the students with these assignments.
In the last few weeks, other parents have come forward with complaints about the content being distributed in their school districts. One mother explained how her child was given a book in which the main character got “a boner” and was “turned on” from getting beaten up.
Amid all this controversy, the Eugene 4J School District superintendent claimed these were mere “shortcomings” and that they’d work on fixing “inadequate oversight."
Miller has since been put on administrative leave, according to a report from Fox News.
While this teacher and the fact that this happened in a school classroom is disgusting, this is the culture the left is promoting. This is what they want. The left, in partnership with the media (considering this story likely won’t even reach legacy outlets) is working overtime to encourage hypersexualized environments for kids and is allowing teachers to actively - and in some cases, legally - groom students.
