Beto: Take Tax-Exempt Status from Churches That Oppose Gay Marriage

October 11th, 2019 10:16 AM

“Scratch a progressive, find an authoritarian.” And his name is Robert Francis O’Rourke. The feckless furry with the foundering campaign and phony hispanic nickname is making a desperate play for the illiberal left wing of the Democratic party. First it was his “mandatory buy-back” of AR-15s. Now, he’s threatening religious institutions that still believe in traditional marriage.

Beto Appeared on CNN’s “Equality” LGBT pander fest townhall on October 10. This ritual humiliation of Democratic candidates inluded such events as the Civic Goodie Toss and the Biology Bend. Elizabeth Warren promised to redistribute the gay.

But mostly, its was the perrenially hopeless prostrating themselves before the perpetually aggrieved. And if that means the Bill of Rights takes one in the neck, well, it's worth it for power.

During Beto's turn, host Don Lemon (not exactly a disinterested referee) said:

This is from your LGBTQ plan and here’s what you write -- this is a quote: “Freedom of religion is a fundamental right, but it should not be used to discriminate.” Do you think religious institutions like colleges, churches charities -- should they lose their tax-exempt status if they oppose same sex marriage.

Without hesitation O’Rourke nodded, “Yes.” After basking in the applause from the many lifestyle fascists in the room, he elaborated:

There can be no reward, not benefit, no tax break for anyone, any institution, any organization in America that denies the full human rights and the full civil rights of every single one of us. And so as president, we are going to make that a priority and we are going to stop those who are infringing upon the human rights of our fellow Americans.

There was, you’ll be shocked to learn, no challenge or follow-up from perpetual GLAAD Media Award winner Don Lemon.

So that’s where the queer left is: state sanctioned marriage is not enough. Pockets of dissent (organizations and individuals that have no power over anything but their own beliefs and actions) will not be tolerated, “for if you hide the crown, even in your hearts, there will he rake for it.” That’s where Beto O’Rourke is -- promising, on the very, very slim chance even Democrats take him serious enough to vote for him, to use the power of the federal government to coerce American citizens into betraying their faith.

And that’s where CNN is: blithely hosting a discussion of dismantling the First Amendment.
