UNREAL: Singer Demi Lovato Condemns Gender Reveal Parties as 'Transphobic'

Here’s one of those stories that prove that celebrities truly live on another planet. While most of us worry about things like bills, lockdowns, and crime, celebrities are there to warn us about the next great evil: gender reveal parties.

On February 24, singer Demi Lovato, who identifies as "queer," reposted a lengthy Instagram piece entitled “Why Gender Reveal Parties Are Transphobic.” Written by an LGBTQ activist/author/speaker known as Alok Vaid-Menon, the nine-page post claims that “it’s both insincere and incorrect to pretend that gender reveal parties are not transphobic.”

Further on the post reads:

This is not about being politically correct, it’s about being correct. The refusal to acknowledge this stems from a misunderstanding of what transphobia is. Transphobia is not just prejudice or violence against an individual trans person, it is a belief system that presumes non-trans people to be more “natural” than trans people. Only individual people can self determine [sic] their gender.

We’ve now gone past the point of “politically correct” to claiming that more than two genders is factually “correct,” no questions asked. With the way this post views transphobia, it’s no wonder they think pink cups and blue balloons are practically evil. It makes about as much sense as anything else these people believe.

The post then devolves into the usual screed that “there are boys with vaginas and girls with penises and that there are people who are neither boys nor girls.” On the other hand, “The gender binary...naturalizes cultural myths as ‘biological facts.’” Apparently, "The idea that sex is based on genitalia is inconsistent with science,” except for the about 90% of gender dysphoric/confused children who end up basing their gender on their genitalia and sex chromosomes by puberty. Shockingly, science doesn’t seem to be these celebrities’ strong point.

This radicalism sadly isn’t new for Lovato who has previously gone mad with Trump Derangement Syndrome. It’s ironic that the post reads, “We condemn gender reveals not because of our identity, but because of reality” when celebrities like Lovato deny reality themselves. Whether it’s denying Trump's 2016 election win or biology determining our gender, it’s like celebrities want to acknowledge everything but reality.

With the state of things these days, people probably wish that transphobic gender reveal parties were the biggest issues right now. Instead, they have to live in the real world where people like Demi Lovato call them “transphobic” for eating a cake with blue icing while demanding they do it socially distanced, pulling their mask up between bites. How’s that unity coming?
