Women’s basketball is teaming up with Planned Parenthood in the name of “women” – even though millions of women are missing today because of the abortion giant.
On Wednesday, the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) announced a “new women and girls empowerment program” for the 2018 season called, “Take a Seat, Take a Stand.” When fans purchase tickets, they will “have the chance to support several organizations that are changing the game for women and girls.” One of which just happens to be Planned Parenthood.
The WNBA promises to donate $5 to one of six left-wing organizations for every ticket purchased – and fans have the option to specify which one.
To announce the news, WNBA posted a video on Twitter, complete with scenes from the Women’s March (which rejected pro-life women) and rainbow flags.
“This season, your tickets support more than women’s basketball,” the video stressed. “It supports women.”
But do they really? Under Richard’s leadership, pro-life groups report that there have been “3.8 MILLION lives lost to abortion.” In all, the abortion giant has committed roughly 7.6 million abortions since Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the U.S.
Those include abortions of women in the womb. But WNBA president Lisa Borders loved the idea.
“For 22 years, the WNBA and its players – women playing at the highest level of their sport – have stood up as role models for millions of women and girls,” Borders said. “We are proud to come together as a league to stand with our partner organizations, our fans and the many inspiring women raising their voices for change in the current women’s movement.”
For its part, Planned Parenthood was also thrilled.
“We’re so grateful the WNBA is standing up for the 2.4 million patients who rely on Planned Parenthood and supporting issues that affect the health, well-being, and success of women and girls,” Planned Parenthood Executive Vice President Dawn Laguens said in the press release. “Players have used their platforms to bring attention to inequality and, through ‘Take a Seat, Take a Stand,’ the WNBA is giving fans an opportunity to join them in the fight for social change.”
The writing was on the wall. Last year, WNBA’s Seattle Storm also partnered with Planned Parenthood.
It’s not like they need the money. According to Planned Parenthood’s most recently published annual report, the organization performed 321,384 abortions and received $543.7 million in “government health services, reimbursements & grants” for the year 2016-2017.
