ObamaCare Car Destroyed to Crowd's Cheers in ‘Simpsons’ Demolition Derby

April 30th, 2018 2:42 AM

In the April 29 episode of Fox’s The Simpsons, “Forgive and Regret,” the Legends of Demolition Derby comes to Springfield and Homer’s old car is entered. His car makes it to the final round and the challenging car is called "Car-rak Obama’s Affordable Healthcare Mobile," which, the announcer adds, “You can’t kill no matter how hard you try.” That would be funnier if it weren’t so true about the struggles against Obamacare.

Unsurprisingly, the Obamacare Mobile isn't very popular with the crowd, they throw bottles and other trash at it.

As the battle heats up, Grandpa Abe experiences chest pains and Homer reluctantly leaves with him before he can see the ending. Unlike real life in which Obamacare still survives, the Affordable Healthcare Mobile's giant Obama head flies through the air and lands in front of the stadium seating, the car apparently destroyed. One of the big ears falls off, for an interesting touch. We are left to assume Homer’s car was victorious.

Homer: This is it. Only one car stands in our way.

Announcer: It's down to Homer's Boner and Car-rak Obama, the Affordable Healthcare Mobile, which you can't kill no matter how hard you try.

Homer: My whole life has been leading to this one moment.

Abe: Oh! My chest hurts!

Homer: That's called pride.

Abe: My arm is numb!

Homer: Numb with pride.

Abe: Son, I need to go to the hospital.

Homer: Huh? Sure, Dad. I missed it.

Abe: Can you see the pain you're causing him? Go on, git!

If only it was so easy to get ride of Obamacare in real life. Unfortunately, that demolition derby rages on.
