Golden State Coach/Gun Control Fanatic Kerr Takes Aim at Sen. Cruz, Second Amendment

Gun control nut Steve Kerr is firing on all cylinders at Republicans in the wake of Monday’s horrific mass shooting in Boulder. The head coach of the Golden State Warriors and frequent gun control screecher says Sen. Ted Cruz and other Republicans are ignoring the issue and refusing to listen to their constituents.

Sen. Cruz had previously criticized the Democrats’ obsession with legislation that won’t curb gun violence, stating:

“Every time there’s a shooting, we play this ridiculous theater, where this committee gets together and proposes a bunch of laws that would do nothing to stop these murders.”

As reported by Yahoo Sports’ Ryan Young, Kerr spoke with reporters prior to Tuesday night’s NBA game against Philadelphia and renewed his attack on the Second Amendment. A screen behind him displayed the names of the 18 people who were tragically shot in Atlanta and Boulder in recent days. There wasn’t near enough room on that screen to list the 620 shooting victims in Chicago this year.

Inner city violence in large cities isn’t part of the Left’s anti-gun agenda though. Republicans are the target. Kerr put the senator from Texas directly in his line of fire with these offensive remarks.:

“Ted Cruz, this could be your family. This could be your friend. This could be somebody very close to you. If it happened, would you not want there to be something in place where there was a background check? It’s just mind-boggling to me that we can just continue to cater to the very small minority in this country.”

Kerr blamed Sen. Cruz and other Republicans for “ignoring the issue” and for not listening to the people they were elected to represent. While turning the Second Amendment into a political issue, Kerr blathered on about not doing just that.:

“We have to address it. We can’t just turn it into a political issue and romanticize this idea that Americans get to have guns and that it’s a God-given right. I mean, what does that even mean? Did guns exist when God created the Earth? I wasn’t aware of that.

“I think everybody is sick and tired of the rhetoric that’s out there, particularly amongst the Republican Senators who refuse to even vote on [that bill]. We’re not being represented.”

Less than two weeks ago the Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives passed two-gun control bills. Among the people voting for these bills were two Bay Area congresswomen who represent Kerr’s area – Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Cong. Jackie Speier. So who’s the Bay Area nitwit not being represented by gun control advocates?

Kerr has been sniping away at gun control for some time. In 2018, after the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, he blamed government inactivity on gun control as a cause inevitably leading to massacre after massacre.

Democrats in the Senate are planning to legislate stricter gun control as well. Undaunted, Sen. Cruz said Tuesday on the Fox News Hannity” program that taking away guns from Americans will “disarms the potential victims and make them vulnerable to criminals.”
