Father doesn't know best in the home of a retired NBA superstar. Not Dwyane "D" Wade, who says he needs to get up to speed with his 12-year-old trans son Zion. Far more woke presidential candidates Elizabeth Warren and Julian Castro do get it, though, and they're exploiting Zion's personal confusion to cater to LGBT voters.
Jacob Bogage's Washington Post story reports Wade's perspective on Zion's masculinity is changing as he watches his "son become into who she now is." The former Miami Heat guard recognizes strength and courage in Zion, rather than confusion about his gender.
Interviewed on an All the Smoke podcast by former NBA ballers Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, D Wade says he's evolving and accepting his son's feminine ways.:
"I've watched my son, from Day 1, become into who she now eventually has become. For me, it's all about, nothing changes with my love. Nothing changes with my responsibilities. Only thing I got to do now is get smarter and educate myself more. And that's my job."
At Thanksgiving time, D Wade's wife Gabrielle Union posted a photo on Twitter showing dad, Zion and his sister and wife with his reference to "my girls." That generated a lot of opposition, or "internet stupidity," the father recalls. He says opponents of transgenderism (who understand their immutable gender) are the people with the issues, not trans kids.
Gabrielle is helping D get his PC act together now. She "gave me some different lenses to look through" and "changed my whole perspective" on LGBTQ issues," he says. That makes him a hero to the LGBT fascists, rather than a target to be destroyed.:
"I had to look myself in the mirror and say: what if your son comes home and tells you he is gay? What are you going to do? How are you going to be? How are you going to act? It ain't about him. He knows who he is. It's about you. Who are you?"
Two Democrats seeking the presidential nomination are cashing in on Zion's trans fame, former HUD Secretary Julian Castro and U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.).
"His unconditional love for Zion will give other parents the courage to love and respect their children for who they truly are," Castro said.
Sen. Warren's staff aide Ben O'Keefe, tweeted, "It's hard to overstate the power and beauty of @Dwyane Wade and @itsgabrielleu so strongly supporting their child on the world stage. All queer kids deserve love and support and I'm so thankful for the example Dwyane and Gabrielle are setting for parents everywhere."
They're right on the love part, but by caving in to the LGBTQ agenda the Wades leave much to be desired.
Back to the father doesn't know best story line: D Wade told Variety last summer that he, as a parent, has no story to tell here. It's Zion's story to tell, he insists of a 12-year-old boy who thinks he's a girl. But after admitting he's not da man in the story, D insists it's his job to be a role model for his children. He says he'll just sit back and let his kids be their "amazing self."
Even though the journal Pediatrics revealed trans kids are more likely than non-trans children to be diagnosed with mental health issues.
