The showbiz left, secure in their swanky California and Manhattan digs, can’t honestly be expected to care much about border security. But, the most strident voices have chosen recently to outright denigrate it, too assured of their inherent goodness and cosmopolitan virtue signaling. Here are some Twitter highlights:
Kathy Griffin, who when not holding a bloody model of President Trump’s head is known to sell Christmas ornaments that read “F*** Trump,” shouted her love for Hawaii Senator Brian Schatz and his opposition to the wall:
Thank you @brianschatz!!! https://t.co/cWCi1u6LYA

Ron Perlman, the muscly guy who played Hellboy in the first and second installments of the series, demonstrated that the brain/brawn dichotomy may actually be true in his case as he lamented the fact that Trump would “s*** down the government” [sic] for Christmas over the wall and ranted a bit about Mattis’ departure from Trump Administration:
The government will shit down for Xmas, putting coal in the stockings of hundreds of thousands of Americans. And James Mattis, the only true professional in the entire cabinet, has resigned because he won’t work for an asshole. Can’t remember that last time America was this great!

And no Twitter politics conniption would be complete without Debra Messing and Bette Midler, both of whom retweeted a political cartoon that displayed the real “wall that will ‘make America safe again.’” Apparently non-disclosure payments are more dangerous than porous borders, in their eyes:

]And Messing struck again with a retweet of the president himself, questioning whether he went back on his assertion that he would take responsibility for the government shutdown if wall funding is not secured. Would she now prefer that he bears that on his shoulders again? Go figure.
“I will be PROUD to shut down the government over the Wall.” https://t.co/LfGfXt0jMT
