Former Charmed actress and one of the few #MeToo activists who hasn’t become a giant hypocrite (this ones for you Alyssa Milano), Rose McGowan, slammed Democrats' latest impeachment of president Trump, saying it’s all just theater performed in order to avoid doing their actual jobs.
McGowan, an alleged Harvey Weinstein rape victim who has found herself disillusioned by both sides of the political spectrum, took to Twitter recently to denounce the far left’s efforts to impeach Trump in the wake of the Capitol riots as “cult propaganda.”
McGowan maintained that both side’s participation of the charade are preventing the American people from getting very necessary help on a variety of things, particularly Wu-Flu relief. It’s hard not to agree with her, when it takes eight months for Congress to decide on relief bills for people whose lives have been destroyed by lockdowns, but less than a week to get an impeachment done.
The actress began her January 14 tweet, saying, “This impeachment is Cult propaganda. A theater of mass distraction. US cult members on the left will cheer, those on the right will be in a fury. ”
Yeah it’s a familiar play that we’ve all been given front row seats to throughout the Trump years. And McGowan said it hasn’t actually done anything for normal people’s lives. “And the country’s starving, sick & poor will sink farther & farther. Good thing the Elites are leading us,” she added.
Of course, McGowan tends toward hyperbole. She is a firebrand whose tweets are prone to being panicky and full of conspiracy theories. When Trump took decisive action in killing Iran’s top terrorist leader, Qassem Soleimani, a year ago, McGowan melted down on social media, apologizing to the Iranian regime on the country's behalf.
Still, she has a point every now and then. Many sober-minded pundits have been wondering whether impeachment of the president for the second time, only a week before he leaves office, is a good idea: the criticism being that it will only compound the hatred and division already present in the country.
One leftwing actor Matt Rogers confronted McGowan over her statement, maintaining that holding Trump accountable is a responsible and heroic thing to do. We know. Typical leftist fixation on Trump. He stated, “Because it seems like having Donald Trump removed and convicted for blatant crimes is a step in the right direction.”
(Way to prove Rose’s point, Matt!)
Rose responded by pointing out what she perceived as hypocrisy. In her mind, Obama and George W. Bush did terrible things but got a pass from their fellow politicians. She tweeted, “Then I suggest we also, in the interest of fairness, go after Obama for war crimes in Yemen, GW Bush for war crimes in Iraq/Afghanistan.”
But it’s hard for conservatives not to agree with Rose on this one. Democrat and media hatred for Trump is an obsession that actually gets in the way of them working for the American people. Just ask Nancy Pelosi about why Dems held up COVID relief.
