Last season HBO’s sports-centered dramedy Ballers, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, left no doubt how the writers feel about conservatives, and the season 4 premiere may have given us a hint that they plan to pick right back up where they left off with their anti-Trump sentiment in the form of a not-so-subliminal message on a t-shirt.
In Sunday’s episode, “Rough Ride,” main character Ricky Jerret (John David Washington) pulls up with his wife Amber (Brittany S. Hall) in a blue Ferrari to check out a new home he’s considering purchasing. Ricky’s friend TTD (Carl McDowell) pulls up next to them in a red Ferrari, steps out of the car and proclaims his astonishment at how lavish the house is. As he does, one can’t miss the large letters on his t-shirt that spell out, “Make Obama President Again,” an obvious play on Trump's "Make America Great Again" campaign slogan.
TTD: God damn! This is a Real Housewives of Orange County crib!
Ricky: Hell, yeah.
Considering the name of next week's episode, "Don't You Wanna Be Obama?", I think it's safe to say the show has a bit of an obsession with the former president.
