Hollywood is full of insane political conspiracy theories running wild. While President Trump visited Asia, Jim Carrey used the visit as a jumping point to air his ideas on Twitter.
Sharing a photoshopped image of Russian president Vladimir Putin holding a miniature version of Trump, Carrey tweeted: “1968 they backed the enemy. 2016 they put their stooge in the WH. Benedict Trump and his Russian pimp in Vietnam on Veterans Day. #ohsaywhenwillyousee.”
Later, he shared one of his paintings, this time of Trump kissing Putin’s rear-end. The caption for this painting was “They bailed him out, set him up and made him their stooge. With Trump in the WH, Putin may win the 3rd World War without firing a shot. #PuckerUpPOTUS.”
This is the same person who told Michael Moore that hurricanes were linked to Trump: “I truly believe it’s all linked. All the politics, and all the hurricanes and all the stuff and the energy that is happening on this planet. It’s all connected in some way.” The actor is also being sued by his ex-girlfriend’s family for providing drugs for her before she committed suicide.
This kind of language (and imagery) got late night talk show host Stephen Colbert in trouble back in May, when the comedian made a lewd crack about the only thing Donald Trump’s mouth was good for. Literally anything passes as a piece of the resistance these days. Carrey’s previous paintings of Trump and his associates are no joke: on November 2, he posted an abstract painting of Trump, with the caption: “Trump is the fear of utter worthlessness hiding in arrogance and brutality. #bewaretheunloved.”
His other paintings show the same level of urgent vulgarity calling for the end of Trump’s presidency, no matter what the cost. In August, Carrey tweeted, “WHAT WILL IT TAKE for the GOP to throw this madman overboard? HOW LOW MUST WE SINK before REPS become patriotic?” Another very special tweet contained the (supposed) joke: “Tonight in West Virginia @realDonaldTrump is expected to EAT A BABY on stage to the delight of his zombie base. #walkingdead.”
