Perez Hilton, popular foul-mothed celebrity commentator, has an acting gig – Danny Tanner – otherwise known as the father from Full House. Thankfully, it won’t be on a revived version of the TV show, but a musical, set for an August premiere in Toronto.
The plot will follow Tanner as he “loses his super power of solving any problem with his sensible Dad Speeches (complete with soft piano accompaniment). Follow Danny's wacky and hilarious descent into madness as he slowly turns from wholesome Danny Tanner to foul-mouthed and dark Bob Saget.” (Saget’s stand-up comedy is infamously not family friendly.) Hilton describes the affair as “super silly, ridiculous, naughty fun.”
Hilton told Howard Stern some of the songs that will be performed: ‘I’m Kind of a Slut (But Just Enough for Network TV)’, ‘Dad Speech (I’m a F—king Superhero)’, and Kimmy Gibler Don’t Give a F—k’ among others.
Juxtaposition is one thing, but putting Hilton in a role to trash of one of the better family characters in living memory? Simply insidious.
Hilton has a penchant for producing things not suitable for families, like his so-called kid’s book published a few years ago. There was also the time that he took and published an up-skirt picture of a minor. And we all know what he thinks of people that support traditional families from that time he judged a Miss USA competition.
Yeah, sounds like the perfect guy to play a family man.
Hilton gave the disclaimer that “If you’re offended by naughty words, then it’s not your cup of tea.” ‘Naughty’ words? No. How they’re used? More than likely, if they’re coming out of his mouth. Surely this will be a mock-fest for the ages, not just of Full House and Bob Saget, but of the institution of family itself.
But hey, at least he warned us.
