Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) says he believes the claims of Democrat Michigan Senate Candidate Abdul El-Sayed’s half-sister professing that her family has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood – and warns that El-Sayed would pose a grave danger to the country, if he’s elected.
In a Tuesday interview on “Hannity,” Sen. Cruz said he thinks El-Sayed is in league with the terrorist organization and, as a result, would likely leak information that could result in the death of Americans.
If Democrat Chuck Schumer (D-NY) becomes the Senate majority leader as a result of November’s midterm elections and El-Sayed is elected a senator, a “frightening” scenario would present itself, Cruz explained:
1. El-Sayed would automatically gain a security clearance without having to undergo a background check.
2. Schumer could give El-Sayed a position on the Senate Intelligence Committee.
3. El-Sayed would then have access to high-level classified information.
4. El-Sayed would likely provide that intelligence to Muslim Brotherhood terrorists, endangering the lives of U.S. service members and covert agents.
I believe Abdul El-Sayed is Muslim Brotherhood.

A transcript of Sen. Cruz’s comments is presented below:
“I believe this man is Muslim Brotherhood. And, I’ll tell you, Sean, one of the most frightening things - if he were to win:
“Senators don’t undergo a security clearance. By virtue of being elected to a Constitutional office, you are deemed to have a security clearance.
“Chuck Schumer could place Abdul El-Sayed on the Senate Intelligence Committee. He would have access to the very highest level of classified materials.
“And I believe, if that were to happen, there would be an unacceptably high risk that American servicemen and women, their lives would be endangered, and our covert and intelligence assets, their lives would be endangered - because there’s every reason to believe Abdul El-Sayed would share that classified information with Muslim Brotherhood terrorists.”
