Twenty years ago this week, a compliant media elite aided Hillary Clinton's self-serving attempt to re-write the history of the Lewinsky scandal and her "vast right-wing conspiracy" smear of conservatives.

American reporters aren’t shy about “speaking truth to power” when it comes to American politicians. But when it comes to the far nastier conduct of the Chinese dictatorship, the media lions too often turn into pussycats.

Instead of appreciating how our military are called upon to risk their lives to defend our nation, some in the media trash American soldiers as their moral inferiors. The MRC has collected many quotes showing this antagonistic attitude, with soldiers denigrated as “psychopaths,” war criminals, and “fighting tools of American imperialism.”

Eight years ago, the Late Show’s David Letterman ended his record-setting 33-year run as a broadcast late-night host. Letterman was an obvious liberal who used the platform of his show to promote and flatter liberal politicians like Barack Obama, and to ridicule Republicans with whom he disagreed on issues such as gun rights.

For years liberal reporters and celebrities have exploited moms and Mother’s Day in order to score rhetorical points and seek a rhetorical edge in pushing various causes. Republicans are trashed as terrible mothers, while Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama are heralded as super-moms.

In the six years Nicolle Wallace has hosted MSNBC’s Deadline: White House, she’s shown no interest in calling out even the lamest spin of Democratic operatives. Instead, the onetime-Republican has been on a seek-and-destroy campaign to vilify Republicans and paint her former party as a dangerous extremist movement.

During the 2011 debt ceiling fight, the media relentlessly harassed Republican attempts to rein in spending, as journalists demanded tax increases and blasted conservatives as hostage takers and bomb-toting terrorists.

The mere existence of Fox News has provided news audiences with a genuine alternative to the liberal hive mind that enjoyed hegemony over the news product in previous decades. And that’s the reason the liberal elite has despised the network for more than two decades.

Instead of making government over-spending an issue, the news media have relentlessly pushed for even more of the nation’s wealth to be handed over to the federal government to spend.

Five years ago, an adoring media fan club tried to mainstream X-rated performer Stormy Daniels as a “very empowered woman,” a “working mom,” a “beacon of The Resistance” and a “feminist hero.”

Eleven years ago this week, NewsBusters helped expose how deceptive editing by NBC News made the already-tense situation surrounding the killing of Trayvon Martin even worse; the resulting scandal led NBC to fire three people involved in the story, yet the network refused to issue an on-air correction or apology.

Thirteen years ago this week, the liberal media celebrated the final passage of the Affordable Care Act, aka “ObamaCare,” President Barack Obama’s big government answer to the millions of Americans without health insurance. Passage came after a year of media cheerleading, as journalists trumpeted the alleged benefits of Obama’s plan and denigrated conservative critics as racists or terrorists…

For 20 years, lefties have blasted the press as weak or corrupt because the media did not prevent the Bush administration from launching the war in Iraq. It’s become an enduring myth amongst liberals — and one that an honest review of news coverage would quickly debunk.

Eight years ago, the New York Times’s Michael Schmidt broke the news that Hillary Clinton ignored government rules and used a personal server for e-mail during her time in office. Friendly journalists spent the next week furiously attempting to spin her scandalous conduct away, ultimately deriding reporters who provided tough coverage as Hillary “haters.”
