Facebook fact-checker PolitiFact produced eight fact-checks that either used or relied on World Health Organization (WHO) numbers that have proven to be untrue. A new report from CNN shows that communist China was lying about how many of its citizens had contracted COVID-19 and how many deaths resulted from it.

Although the presidential election was more than a month ago now, Facebook is continuing to crack down on what it has decided is misinformation about the election. A Facebook fact-checker marked an article that Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) posted on December 4 as “Partly False Information” for the apparent sin of calling the results of the 2020 election into question. 

The Senate Commerce Committee voted to advance the nomination of a man who, if elected commissioner, could protect free speech on the internet. 
 

A fact-checking website may not even be able to properly check the facts in its own articles when the facts don’t line up with its narrative. FactCheck.org, which  partners with Facebook to fact-check articles and social media posts, has not corrected a January article that provides incorrect information regarding the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in China. 

Twitter’s war with President Donald Trump and the Trump campaign has claimed at least 100 more casualties in the form of labeled tweets. Since Monday, Nov. 30, Twitter has slapped 111 labels on Trump’s tweets and the tweets from his official campaign count, Team Trump.

Facebook has, once again, decided to step up its censorship game.

The social media platform has reportedly decided that it will remove what it deems to be “false claims” about the COVID-19 vaccine that could be available around the world fairly soon, according to Bloomberg News. 

One America News Network (OAN) proclaimed that it will switch to Rumble, a free speech alternative to YouTube. OAN announced it has “decided to #MakeTheSwitch to #Rumble, where we can freely report the news without restrictions or censorship,” in a Dec. 3 tweet.

Even The Washington Post has called out Facebook for its new racial double standards. Facebook “is overhauling its algorithms that detect hate speech and deprioritizing hateful comments against Whites, men and Americans,” The Washington Post reported on Thursday. Twitter Safety is rolling out new dystopian policies to regulate the speech of its users. Big Tech wants Americans to exchange their freedoms for false guarantees of “safety.” “Today, we’re expanding our hateful conduct policy to address language that dehumanizes people on the basis of race, ethnicity, or national origin,” the official Twitter Safety account declared in a Dec. 2 thread.

Facebook’s new censorship process has taken off, and the platform’s Oversight Board has released the first six cases it plans to review. The Facebook Oversight Board (The Board) does have a period for public comment for the posts under review, but it does not make the actual posts or appeals publicly available. A straightforward report from Not the Bee, covering Johns Hopkins University’s (JHU) deletion and retraction of a student article covering a professor’s analysis that challenged the lethality of COVID-19, was fact-checked. Facebook’s left-wing fact-checkers jumped at the opportunity to call the article untrue and pile on doubt concerning the piece once it was posted to the platform.…

While Twitter eagerly slaps warnings and labels on tweets from President Donald Trump like there’s no tomorrow, the platform is still unwilling to take action against Chinese misinformation.
