However, amidst the tributes, they seemed curiously uninterested in an interview she gave in 2016. Asked about Merrick Garland, the liberal justice asserted, “There’s nothing in the Constitution that says the president stops being president in his last year.”

On the Disney-syndicated talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan on Monday, Ali Wentworth (Mrs. George Stephanopoulos) appeared to great praise -- "one of the funniest people we know," said co-host Ryan Seacrest. What followed was a tale of the entire Stephanopoulos family weeping in the car for 45 minutes when George told his family that Ruth Bader Ginsburg had died.

ABC News had barely even reported the news of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s passing Friday night before hosts and correspondents began crassly strategizing over how Democrats could target vulnerable Republican senators in order to block any nominee named by President Trump to fill the vacancy. 

At news that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had passed, NY Magazine’s Rebecca Traister appeared on MSNBC’s All In With Chris Hayes to have an emotional breakdown panicking about how the evil right wing was succeeding in gutting the left’s “major legal victories” of the past fifty years.
