CNN's Anderson Cooper struck back Friday posting on Twitter, "Why does #AlecBaldwin get a pass when he uses gay slurs? If a conservative talked of beating up a 'queen' they would be vilified":

Alec Baldwin had another Twitter meltdown Thursday. This time the object of his disaffection was a British reporter who wrote a piece claiming Baldwin's wife Hilaria was tweeting during James Gandolfini's funeral. That was too much for the unstable actor who took to his own Twitter account unleashing a vulgar tirade before suspending it.

Alec Baldwin wins the stuffed Teddy bear prize for the most imaginative defense of the IRS scandal engulfing the Obama administration. Or, to use Baldwin's Twitter turn of phrase, "scandal."

In case you haven't noticed, the media have all practically endorsed Christine Quinn to become New York's first female and openly gay mayor. Rather shockingly, don't count Alec Baldwin amongst them, for in a scathing piece published at the Huffington Post Monday, the actor proclaimed, "Christine Quinn is not qualified to be mayor of New York:
