Phil Griffin, head of the MSNBC cable television channel, told Marisa Guthrie of the Hollywood Reporter that he accepts responsibility for recent embarrassments that led Alec Baldwin and Martin Bashir to leave the network and Melissa Harris-Perry to offer a tearful on-air apology.
"These were judgment calls made by some of our people. We handled them. We were transparent. That is our…

Alec Baldwin Mocks Melissa Harris-Perry: 'If I Cry, Will I Be Forgiven
January 5th, 2014 12:06 AM
As NewsBusters reported earlier, MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry began her Saturday show with a heartfelt apology to Mitt Romney's family that included her tearing up.
This prompted former MSNBC host Alec Baldwin - terminated in November for a homophobic rant towards a paparazzo - to write on Twitter hours ago, "If I cry, will I be forgiven all of my transgressions?":

January 3rd, 2014 5:25 PM
Following Melissa Harris-Perry's smear on Mitt Romney's adopted black grandson - the third in a series of recent high-profile faux pas by MSNBC hosts - Fox News media analyst Howard Kurtz asked a question Friday whose answer appears to definitively be "Yes."
"[H]as the channel developed a culture in which harsh personal attacks are encouraged, or at least tolerated?"

Andrew Sullivan: 'I’m Befuddled By the Firing of Phil Robertson
December 19th, 2013 6:22 PM
Liberals have been predictably up in arms over anti-gay comments by Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson and thrilled about his termination.
Rather shockingly you can't count Andrew Sullivan amongst them, for he took to his Daily Dish blog Thursday to proclaim, "I’m befuddled":

December 1st, 2013 7:18 PM
Alec Baldwin can't make up his mind.

November 26th, 2013 7:23 PM
The New York Post reported Tuesday that MSNBC's Up Late with Alec Baldwin has been cancelled in the wake of the host's most recent gay slur. Yet eleven days after Martin Bashir said someone should defecate and urinate in former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's mouth, the vile host with some of the lowest ratings on cable television still hasn't been punished in any way.
Baldwin apparently sees…
Coulter Column: If Alec Baldwin Loses, the Leftist Bullies Win
November 21st, 2013 5:31 PM
I'm with Alec Baldwin on punching aggressive paparazzi photographers. I'm with him against the word police. I'm with him on the stalker. I'm with him on using an electronic device on a plane before takeoff. I'm with him on Kim Basinger playing visitation games with their daughter.
What are conservatives doing demanding Baldwin's head for calling some pestilential paparazzi a "c*ck-s*cking…

Alec Baldwin Suspension for Gay Slur Might Be Permanent
November 20th, 2013 8:49 PM
Left-wing actor Alec Baldwin just can't stay out of trouble. The most recent example of that is his calling a photographer who was following him and his family “a c**ksucking fag." That incident caused MSNBC to suspend his Friday evening Up Late interview program for at least two weeks and there are reports that his show may be canceled entirely.
Baldwin's angry behavior was the topic for…

Alec Baldwin Goes On Another Vulgar Homophobic Rant
November 14th, 2013 4:53 PM
The last time Alec Baldwin went on a homophobic rant, he was rewarded with his own television show on MSNBC.
What will be his reward after this most recent one reported by TMZ Thursday (video follows with commentary, extreme vulgarity warning):
Sharpton, Baldwin So Bad on MSNBC, Even Randi Rhodes Holds Her Nose
November 12th, 2013 11:10 AM
Could it be, just maybe, that there's hope for Randi Rhodes yet?
Rhodes finds herself high on the list of prominent left-wing radio hosts (mainly because it's a very short list), but her rants as often documented here make it difficult to take her seriously. (Audio after the jump)

Ready for 2016? Chris Matthews Admits to 'Giggling' With 'Playful' 'G

Liberal MSNBC host Chris Matthews, who famously admitted to a "thrill" that Barack Obama sent up his leg, on Friday praised the "girlish" and "playful" Hillary Clinton. The Hardball anchor appeared on Alec Baldwin's new Friday night show and conceded that he and the potential 2016 candidate "giggle" and "laugh" together.
Matthews was talking to Baldwin about gay rights and made one of his…

October 12th, 2013 6:17 PM
A few hours ago Daily Beast editor-at-large Lloyd Grove published a deliciously scathing review of MSNBC's new Up Late that premiered Friday.
