“Not to be sexist…” is usually a good indicator you’re about to be, well, sexist, which is what Rapper T.I. has been pegged as after a comment on not wanting a female president.
In a recent interview, the rap artist was asked his thoughts on the 2016 presidential race.
“Not to be sexist, but I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman,” T.I. told Vibe magazine. “Just because, every other position that exists, I think a woman could do well. But the president? It’s kinda like, I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally — they make very permanent, cemented decisions — and then later, it’s kind of like it didn’t happen, or they didn’t mean for it to happen.”
In the current field there are two female candidates vying for the chance to be the leader of the free world. At least it means one less Hillary supporter…for now. According to The Hill, that’s a “big vagina to be putting in office[,]” he said, referring to Hillary Clinton.
T.I.’s comments apparently were a testament of his great concerns over U.S. foreign policy though. The intellect rapper doesn’t want an emotional trigger happy female giving the okay for nuke use.
The Hill said he continued on to say:
“[Leaders of other countries] will not be able to negotiate the right kinds of foreign policy. The world ain’t ready yet.’ ‘I think you might be able to get the Loch Ness Monster elected before you could [a woman]. It’s not right, but I’m just saying I don’t think,”
Obviously T.I. has no concept of the country’s current disastrous foreign policy thanks to manly man president Obama. The whole labeling ISIS as a JV team hasn’t exactly been a success.
To make matters worse, he even went so far as praising GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump by saying, “’[Trump is] interesting, and I feel he is the best showman of them all.’ ‘And I do feel that if he is sincerely concerned about the economy of America and the working public, he would be the best person to flip the money that we have, take it and flip it,’” The Hill reported.
But the rapper was quick to note he isn’t exactly on board the Trump train.
“[b]ut, you know, his racist remarks and all of his off-color statements and all that (expletive) it makes it impossible to be completely supportive of him…. But just knowing what he’s done for business for himself, if he intends to do that for America, it would be beneficial. But I can’t cash no vote for him.”
The rapper just couldn’t strike the right cord amongst his liberal lefty followers who were up in arms over his comments. USA Today writer Carly Mallenbaum commented, “…boy, did T.I. sound sexist, saying that women are too emotional to run things[,]” and “…he’s not for a woman AND he’s in support of Trump?”
T.I. eventually caved for his “sexist comments” and apologized via twitter. According to Wetpaint, T.I. wrote, “My comments about women running for president were unequivocally insensitive and wrong. I sincerely apologize to everyone I offended.”
Clearly the rapper of “Whatever you like” can’t say whatever he likes, at least not to the tolerant left.
