How about "angry and lame?" After playing a clip of Hillary in Iowa yesterday in which she addressed the email scandal and took a shot at Donald Trump, MSNBC's Richard Wolffe, sitting in for Steve Kornacki, called her comments "feisty and funny."
Have a look and judge for yourself. There's a difference between feisty and flat-out angry. As for funny, Rodney Dangerfield can rest in peace. Hillary's delivery was wooden. The funniest thing she said was a bit of unintentional humor. Speaking of the email scandal, Clinton claimed "I won't play politics with the national security." Right. Protecting her personal politics was what having her own server was all about.
JANE TIMM: She spoke a lot about the issues that she cares about, but she did address the e-mail scandal that has been in the news so much recently and she got in a couple jokes in that address.RICHARD WOLFFE: So what did she say about Donald Trump? She is the Trump of the Democratic party, what did she say about Trump himself?
TIMM: Well, she had some fun with that. Most of her speech really was about the other Republicans, but, she got in some jokes to basically tie all of the other opponents to Donald Trump.
HILLARY CLINTON: You may have seen that I recently launched a Snapchat account. I love it. I love it. Those messages disappear all by themselves. But it's not about e-mails or servers either, it's about politics. I will do my part to provide transparency to Americans, that's why I've insisted that 55,000 pages of my e-mails be published as soon as possible. I've even offered to answer questions for months before congress. I've just provided my server to the Justice Department, but here's what I won't do, I won't get down in the mud with them. I won't play politics with the national security.
Now I know, most of the attention these days is on a certain flamboyant front-runner. But don't let the circus distract you, if you look at their policies, most of the other candidates are just Trump without the pizazz or the hair.
TIMM: As you can see, she definitely tried to make clear that she is the champion to take the Democratic party away from the GOP's vision.
WOLFFE: Jane, thank you so much. It was a feisty and funny Hillary Clinton.
