On Thursday and Friday, NBC touted "ethics expert" Bill Allison of the Sunlight Foundation – a group funded by left-wing billionaire George Soros – dismissing the Clinton Foundation scandal: "There's no smoking gun, there's no evidence that she changed a policy based on the donations to the foundation."
However, as reported in Sunday's New York Post, Allison seemed to change his mind, now describing the nonprofit as "a slush fund for the Clintons."
The Post also cited how watchdog Charity Navigator "put the foundation on its 'watch list,' which warns potential donors about investing in problematic charities. The 23 charities on the list include the Rev. Al Sharpton's troubled National Action Network, which is cited for failing to pay payroll taxes for several years."
On Thursday, Reuters reported that the Clinton Foundation was going to refile its tax returns to show donations from various foreign entities that it had not previously reported.
In an interview on Monday's NBC Today with the man who revealed many of the bombshells in the scandal, Clinton Cash author Peter Schweizer, co-host Savannah Guthrie wondered if he was just trying to "torpedo" Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign with a "right-wing hit job."
