CNN's Cooper Blasts Jesse Ventura Over Lawsuit Against Military Widow: 'Has He No Shame?'

CNN's Anderson Cooper targeted former professional wrestler Jesse Ventura in a Tuesday post on Twitter, after a jury awarded the ex-governor of Minnesota over $1.8 million in damages in a defamation lawsuit against the estate of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle. Kyle's widow, Taya Kyle, is the executor of her deceased husband's estate.

In the Tweet, Cooper expressed his disbelief over the lawsuit, and wondered what was wrong with Ventura: [post below the jump]

The CNN anchor went on the offensive against "The Body" five minutes later as well, after one of the former politician's supporters came to his defense:

On Tuesday, Monica Davey of the New York Times outlined that Ventura filed his lawsuit against Mr. Kyle in 2012, "saying that his book, 'American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History,' included passages about Mr. Ventura that were false and defamatory....Mr. Ventura was not named in the book, but was alluded to in a chapter...about a confrontation with a celebrity inside a California bar in 2006. In interviews after the book's release, Mr. Kyle said he was referring to Mr. Ventura."

Davey later noted that the lawyer for Mrs. Kyle and her husband's estate, John Borger, "said that his team would be evaluating 'all of our legal options' in the weeks ahead, and that a portion of the jury's finding — involving more than $1.3 million for unjust enrichment — requires additional consideration by the judge."
