Billionaire former Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s bizarre revelation that he thinks he already earned a spot in Heaven with his campaigns to destroy the Second Amendment proves just how arrogant and delusional he has become with his riches.
The anti-gun former New York mayor is launching a new $50 million gun control campaign using a slickly-produced video to push viewers’ emotional hot buttons, boasting that he will target politicians who oppose his anti-gun demagoguery.
Bloomberg, quoted by the New York Times discussing his latest gun control effort, dubbed “Everytown for Gun Safety,” said, “I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close.”
The remark is outrageous and revealing.
One does not earn his way into Heaven by trampling on the civil rights of his fellow citizens. Bloomberg can’t buy himself a spot inside the Pearly Gates by using his riches to erode the freedoms of people who do not enjoy his affluence.
Delusional elitism from Michael Bloomberg is nothing new. His hypocrisy and hubris has been well documented. The billionaire believes his anti-Second Amendment crusade is so important, that he should be allowed to fund his private gun control projects and his Mayors Against Illegal Guns website with taxpayer money and resources. He even spent taxpayer money having armed policemen follow him around New York and the entire country—even though he opposes letting citizens defend themselves.
Bloomberg has also been on the record espousing the idea that law enforcement officers abandon their posts and go on strike as a way to pass more gun control. Some opined that Bloomberg’s rally cry to the boys in blue could be construed as a violation of New York’s Taylor Law.
Outside some elite social circles and the mainstream press, Bloomberg’s anti-gun crusade hasn’t won him any supporters. There’s not any unbiased evidence showing public support for Bloomberg’s rhetoric or his outlandish, authoritarian beliefs. Case in point, Bloomberg’s anti-gun groups outspent all gun rights groups in the 2013 Colorado recall races, but lost both elections by a large margin.
Bloomberg’s latest gun control project may have already blown up in his face, as gun rights activists immediately took the name and concept of his $50 million dollar ‘Everytown’ campaign and started multiple pro-gun rights social media accounts.
The next thing we’re likely to hear from Bloomberg is that after he waltzes into Heaven, he intends to replace God and make himself the new CEO. This man’s head is growing faster than the halo he thinks he will be wearing after he checks out of his earthly environs.
If Bloomberg believes his ‘philanthropy’ for gun control will get him a front row seat in the hereafter, I have a piece of bad news for him; a real estate market in Heaven for his kind of self-aggrandizing pomposity doesn’t exist. However, I’m certain that if he continues to throw his money around to deprive honest citizens of their God-given liberties and natural rights, he’s far more likely to spend eternity pulling weeds behind a shack in a place where it is always hot and there isn’t any shade.
