Bozell Discusses 'Collusion' With John Miller of National Review

MRC president Brent Bozell talked about his book Collusion with Tim Graham in an interview with John J. MIller at National Review as part of his author-interview series "Between the Covers."

Miller began asking about the subtitle, the charge that the media stole the 2012 election. "When the good folks at Harper Collins came to me with the idea of doing this book, and that title was  suggested that title, I was very skeptical. I don’t believe in hyperbole,” Bozell said. “But we put it together, and when Tim Graham showed me what he had put together, my jaw dropped, and I called the publisher and said I would use that title."

The media bias wasn't the only factor, he added. "There were lots of reason Mitt Romney lost....but I do believe there’s no question that if the media had done their job, there’s no question that Barack Obama would have lost."

Miller asked how the Media Research Center's mission matters today. Bozell replied, "If conservatives can get their story across fairly to the American people, nothing else matters. It doesn’t matter what your issue is – tax cuts, pro-life, national defense – it makes no difference. If your ideas are mangled and distorted and destroyed in the court of public opinion, you’ll never win. That’s the problem conservatives have had for 50 years."
