Ever notice how liberals never seem to have a problem with genuine evil and instead use the word to describe those who don't share their rarefied opinions?
Libtalker Bill Press provided an example of this on his radio show yesterday, venting about the Koch brothers, Karl Rove, Sheldon Adelson and Foster Friess for their alleged nefarious plans to seize control of the country through its politics (video after page break) --
PRESS: I think it's important to vote and to vote for President Obama because we've got to defeat the evil people who are trying to take over America's political system. And I'm talking about the Koch brothers, I'm talking about Sheldon Adelson, I'm talking about Karl Rove and all the money that they have poured into this campaign in the most ugly, the worst possible, disgusting tactics, trying to suppress the vote, trying to lie to people -- not trying, lying to people -- trying to scare people, and just pouring bill-, millions and millions and millions of their own dollars to try to buy this election.
We've got to show the Koch brothers and Karl Rove and Sheldon Adelson and Foster Friess and the rest that this country is not for sale. There's so much at stake tomorrow. It's important to vote. It's important to vote for Barack Obama.
Press directs his wrath at the Koch brothers, David and Charles, Sheldon Adelson and Foster Friess, billionaires all, and Karl Rove, the former Bush adviser and driving force behind American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS, two of the best funded and most influential conservative outside groups.
As far as Press is concerned, though he'd never be candid enough to admit this, the only "evil" committed by the Kochs and Adelson and Friess is not that they have contributed millions to help Republicans win -- but that they have billions at all. Their crime, to a man, is that they are wealthy and conservative. The most significant "change" wrought by Barack Obama over the last four years is that more Americans than ever view wealth as criminal.
