Showing that he either knows absolutely nothing about current events, or that he's just willing to blatantly lie on the so-called "news" network that foolishly employs him, MSNBC's Martin Bashir falsely claimed Tuesday that Congressman Paul Ryan's (R-Wisc) "previous budget was excoriated by both Republicans and Democrats."
Actually, 97 percent of Republicans that cast votes in the House and Senate approved Ryan's budget last year (video follows with transcript and commentary):
MARTIN BASHIR: In a surprisingly bold move given the way his previous budget was excoriated by both Republicans and Democrats, Congressman Paul Ryan unveiled a new budget blueprint this morning. Unfortunately for large numbers of Americans, it calls for a massive overhaul of Medicare, the slashing of Medicaid, food stamps, Pell grants, and a host of other important programs. And as for the political gamble of introducing a budget during his own Party’s fight for the Republican nomination, well, Mr. Ryan, responding to a question from our own Luke Russert, made it clear that he expects the nominee to follow his lead.
In the Senate, the bill got 40 GOP ayes and 5 nays.
This means that in total, 275 of the 284 Republican votes were ayes, or 97 percent.
Is this what Bashir considers "excoriated?"
Even more telling is that this Democrat shill considers it a "political gamble" to introduce a budget during an election year.
As his Party hasn't offered one for over 1,000 days, including during the 2010 election year, it appears he's all for members of Congress shirking their solemn responsibility to pass a budget every year.
Frankly, this idiot shouldn't be allowed to teach grammar school let alone host a nationally televised "news" program.
His employers at Comcast must be so proud.
