Michael Moore Calls CBS Reporter a 'Punk' and a Liar for Asking About His Millions

As NewsBusters has been reporting, schlockumentary filmmaker Michael Moore, a multimillionaire hypocritically supporting the Occupy Wall Street movement, is doing everything possible to hide how rich he is.

On Thursday, Moore had a contentious encounter with a CBS reporter in Denver who after asking the filmmaker about his net worth was called a "punk" and a liar (video follows with excerpts of CBS Denver.com report and commentary):

When asked if he would acknowledge that he was rumored to be worth $50 million, and isn’t he part of the 1 percent, Moore replied, “I do very well.”

Cassimy: “How are you helping these people?”

Moore: “Because I do well, I want taxes raised on people who do well, including mine.”

Cassimy: “How are you helping these people with your $50 million?

Moore: “I don’t have $50 million.”

Cassimy: “That’s what it’s rumored you are worth.”

Moore: “Well, really. Is that what you do is sell rumors?”

Cassimy: “We’re asking you for the truth.”

Moore: “You’re just punk media is all you are. You lie. You lie to people. Stop lying to people. Stop lying.”

Cassimy: “Are you not part of the 1 percent?”

Moore: “Just don’t lie, okay?”

At the end of the segment, CBS Denver's Evrod Cassimy commented that he wasn't the only member of the media asking Moore about his wealth, and that the filmmaker wasn't happy about it.

To paraphrase Jack Nicholson, I guess this schlockumentarian can't handle the truth.

Of course, anybody that's had the misfortune of seeing one of Moore's films already knew that.
