ABC News’s The View continued to thumb their nose at the Federal Communications Commission amid the ongoing review of their purported status as a “bona fide news program.” During their Wednesday episode, they alluded to an unsupported conspiracy theory started by Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff (GA), which suggested President Trump and his assistant Natalie Harp were having an affair. They even hinted that it would be suspicious of her to attend the Republican Midterm Convention with him.
Amid their segment mocking the convention, Hostin, without evidence, suggested Trump was funneling illicit funds to Harp:
HOSTIN: I was reading in The Washington Post and I was shocked. It reported that Trump gave sizable holiday gifts to four White House aides including a woman named Natalie Harp. And he gave her $45,000 and that actually was --
ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: That's a very nice bonus, Brian.
HOSTIN: That was a very nice bonus. When I worked for the government I'm sure the same thing for you, Alyssa. I think you could only accept $50 gifts.
FARAH GRIFFIN: $50 or $25 gifts.
HOSTIN: $50 or $25 gifts.
“Now, who is Natalie Harp?” Hostin rhetorically assed in a suspicious tone, “She's his executive assistant.”
Warning that it was somehow a “messy” entanglement, Hostin spewed gossip about how “her brother said that she has an unhealthy obsession with [Trump]”:
HOSTIN: So, I started digging in, not to be messy, but she is the executive assistant to Trump. She's known - She's called "The Printer." Because --
JOY BEHAR: The human printer.
HOSTIN: She carries a portable printer around so she can print out favorable media coverage to him and social media posts for the President.
ABC News's "bona fide news program" The View pushes the conspiracy theory Trump is having an affair with his assistant Natalie Harp. They would find it suspicious if his assistant would accompany him to the convention this week:

Without context, Hostin suggested Harp had written romantic love letters to Trump, which the rest of the cast ate up. They further hinted at something inappropriate going on and that Harp was doing stuff for Trump his wife wasn't:
HOSITN: She wrote letters to him that the Washington Trump [sic] says -- she wrote, 'you are all that matters to me. I don't want to ever let you down.'
SARA HAINES: I said that to my boyfriend.
HOSTIN: She called Trump her ‘guardian and protector in this life.’
BEHAR: Melania doesn't even say that.
“Yeah! Like, given all that, like, is she going to be at this convention?” Hostin wondered, the obvious speculation being that Harp and Trump were going to do something adulterous.
The missing context for Harp’s admiration of Trump was her public expression that she felt Trump’s first term Right to Try policies saved her life by curing her bone cancer.
As libertarian commentator Robby Soave wrote for The Hill:
Harp is, of course, one of Trump’s most trusted aides, having worked for him since 2022. She’s definitely a true believer in the cause of backing the president, and credits his Right to Try policies with allowing her to take an experimental cancer treatment that helped cure her bone cancer, according to CNN.
“There’s no evidence whatsoever, no reason at all, to think there’s something inappropriate about their working relationship,” he added, in words that equally applied to Hostin and The View. “So what Ossoff is doing, in truth, is smearing a hardworking woman who is an asset to her boss. Can a woman not work for a man without somebody making an accusation — a smear?”
So much for being a “bona fide news program.”
