WINNER (78 percent of the vote)
Jennifer Welch: Trump and His Supporters Are “Dismantling Our Country,” “Opening Up Concentration Camps”
“You should hold no punches in critiquing Donald Trump and all of the people in this country. You should critique the 77 million people that voted for him. You should go full tilt because it’s dark; it’s awful. They are dismantling our country. They are opening up concentration camps in the United States of America.”
— Former reality show star Jennifer Welch on her I’ve Had It podcast, August 31.
SECOND PLACE (17 percent of the vote)
Jim Acosta Claims Ambassadors Keep Telling Him That Trump Era Reminds Them of 1930s Germany
“I was at a diplomatic function. I had an ambassador to one of our allies in Europe, come up to me and say, ‘What’s happening right now, Jim, reminds me of Germany in the 1930s.’ And there was another ambassador from another U.S. ally standing next to this ambassador, and that ambassador nodded, yep, yep, and they were both saying the same thing.”
— Former CNN correspondent Jim Acosta on The Jim Acosta Show podcast, August 29.
THIRD PLACE (5 percent of the vote)
Chris Matthews: Trump’s Not Hitler, He’s Mussolini
“We can’t accuse anybody of being Hitler because there’s only one Hitler, fortunately. There’s only one guy that killed all the people and created a war that cost the lives of 50 million people. And not just the holocaust; that war everywhere. But I think he [Donald Trump] is Mussolini. I think he loves being – having big tributes, pretty uniforms, monuments to himself.”
— Former MSNBC Hardball host Chris Matthews on MS NOW’s Alex Witt Reports, August 29.
