In a story published Monday afternoon at the website for the Washington D.C.-area ABC affiliate, 2026 MRC Bulldog Award winner for Outstanding Investigative Journalism Nick Minock shared that a transgender Loudoun County, Virginia high school student has been found to have recorded fellow students in the bathroom for years.

Minock said a Freedom High School student “is accused of photographing and video recording other students who were using bathroom stalls and that there have been literally dozens of victims” and the school’s principal is asking anyone who believes they have been a victim to reach out to local law enforcement.

Separate from his article, he shared an estimated number of victims as well as their gender identity:

As we explained in his Bulldog citation, Minock has been on the front lines doing what few other local journalists have done since he joined WJLA in 2021 with a focus on local crimes by illegal immigrants and within the region’s public school systems, including at the notorious Loudoun County Public Schools.
