“We will stop at nothing to protect our kids,” Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier promised Friday while updating his efforts to bring traffickers and child predators to justice in his state.
“We’re only just getting started,” AG Uthmeier said in a social media video reporting that his office has put over 1,500 child predators behind bars during his time as attorney general. Uthmeier then provided “a couple big announcements in our effort to fight traffickers and child predators here in the state of Florida.” Both involved convictions of child predators who will be serving long sentences.
“Today, we can announce that we’ve secured a lifetime sentence against Raul Brown from Wellington, Florida after he recruited a 16 year-old to move in with him, convinced her to become a stripper and then trafficked her out to perform commercial sex acts for other individuals. And he profited off of this disgusting behavior,” Uthmeier reported:
“Thankfully, he’s going away for a very, very long time.”
Uthmeier went on to announce that his office had just secured a guilty verdict against a man who “solicited and traveled to have sex with two minor children”:
“Again, he’s going to go away for a long time and is looking at up to 35 years behind bars.”
“Here in the state of Florida, we will stop at nothing to protect our kids and to put these dangerous predators behind bars,” AG Uthmeier vowed, before thanking all those who are working to safeguard children in his state.
We've put over 1,500 child predators behind bars, just secured a life sentence for a human trafficker who sold a child into prostitution, and obtained a guilty verdict for a predator who tried to pay $300 to sexually abuse two underage girls.
