Julianna Margulies isn’t content staying silent while Jews are under attack in both Israel and America.
The Morning Show actress previously noted how Hollywood discriminates against the Jewish faith on screens large and small. She also railed against the relative silence from her peers on Hamas’ barbaric October 7 attack on Israel which killed more than 1,200 people.
"Listen, the last thing I thought in my life was that I’d be the one actress speaking out for Jews. I hope I inspire other people to come out and talk and use their voice and use their platform to draw attention to this.”
The exceptions include Amy Schumer, Patricia Heaton, Jon Lovitz and Sacha Baron Cohen. Other stars have signed group letters denouncing Hamas but haven’t been vocal on social media.
Now, the E.R. alum is calling out her fellow Americans. “My non-Jewish friends, your silence on antisemitism is loud,” Margulies wrote in a blistering op-ed published at USA Today.
We are a tiny community. In 2011, the Israelis exchanged 1,027 Hamas prisoners for one Israeli soldier. I don’t pretend to be an expert on the Middle East conflict – I am not, it’s complicated and has been going on for years – but I just want to give you a picture of how valuable one Jewish life is, because there are so few of us.
The letter is heartfelt and kind, a plea for those who don’t grasp the real fears Jewish citizens face across the globe.
It’s impossible to ignore this part of her otherwise poignant essay.
By your inaction to reach out, I immediately thought about the Jews of the Holocaust and what that must have felt like when no one spoke out, or stood up to protect them. Perhaps that is why I jump at the chance to march in Black Lives Matter protests, rally everyone I know to fight for LGBTQ+ right[s] and sound the siren when I hear that immigrant children are being held in cages. I will always fight for the human cause because I know how valuable life is.
Full stop.
Let’s set aside how the “mostly peaceful” BLM protests caused billions in property damage.
Does Margulies realize how some Black Lives Matter groups responded to the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks?
A coalition of 26 local [BLM] chapters called the attacks a “desperate act of self-defense.” The Chicago chapter shared an image glorifying Hamas gunmen on paragliders, before walking it back amid blowback. And the movement’s Phoenix branch praised Hamas “freedom fighters” for their acts of “resistance.”
Echoing this rhetoric are two Hamas-friendly groups—American Muslims for Palestine and the Council for American-Islamic Relations—that have for nearly a decade worked arm-in-arm with the Black Lives Matter organization to plan rallies and lobby lawmakers.
Newsweek shared more official BLM thoughts following the massacre.
The BLM Grassroots chapter responded to the ongoing fighting between Hamas militants and Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) saying, “As the world is faced with deep questions about self-determination, as well all desire and pray for a world of peace, we must stand unwaveringly on the side of the oppressed. When a people have been subject to decades of apartheid and unimaginable violence, their resistance must not be condemned [emphasis added], but understood as a desperate act of self-defense.”
This image won’t fade from memory anytime soon.

How could Margulies not be aware of the group’s support for the ghouls who committed rape, murder and torture on Oct. 7?
How? More importantly, didn’t an editor at USA Today raise his or her hand and remind the actress about the matter?
Can’t Margulies and one of the largest newspapers in the country see why name-checking BLM in this article is a profoundly bad idea?
Another explanation? Neither Margulies nor the USA Today editors knew about BLM’s ghastly affection for Hamas. The BLM Chicago image generated some media attention, but a Google News search for those key words show most mainstream news organizations ignored the shocking news story.
It’s inexcusable either way.
