The House launched an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden, and the press promptly repeated the ridiculous but mandatory line that Republicans have “no evidence” of Biden being involved in his son’s influence-peddling. Plus: the cops captured the escaped murderer in Pennsylvania who couldn’t be tagged as an illegal alien.
On Tuesday, Speaker Kevin McCarthy proclaimed the House would open an impeachment inquiry. Managing Editor Curtis Houck. Curtis sent me the tweet yesterday from the Associated Press that House Republicans were "claiming without evidence that they engaged in an influence peddling scheme." It's plain as day that Hunter was selling the Biden "brand" to foreign governments, putting his dad on the phone and in restaurant meetings to establish a lobbying connection.
On PBS, Laura Barron-Lopez doubled down: "Republicans have lobbed unsubstantiated allegations against President Biden since taking over the House in January, but have so far turned up no evidence of wrongdoing."
CNN's Oliver Darcy broke the news that Biden spokesman Ian Sams is touting a letter Team Biden is sending to the media warning them not to fall for all this so-called misinformation in the impeachment inquiry. Conservative Twitter is mocking this, since why would the Biden-loving media need a letter? Let alone a public letter?
Then video editor Bill D'Agostino joins the show to talk about his finding that the major broadcast networks spent 114 minutes of airtime on Danelo Cavalcante, the illegal alien who escaped a Chester County, Pennsylvania prison on August 31 after being convicted of violently murdering his ex-girlfriend in front of her children. Yet throughout this veritable ocean of coverage, not a single person on any of these three networks has even once bothered to mention that Cavalcante entered this country illegally. That number is all before the murderer was captured.
Bill noted TV reporters pointed out 19 times that Cavalvante was “originally” from Brazil. On eight occasions, it was mentioned that his native language was Portuguese. On four occasions, it was revealed that his sister was an illegal alien, and audiences were told three separate times that U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers were involved in the search. Why would that be?
