Leave it to the leftist media to celebrate when babies are killed.
Slate Magazine released a piece Monday praising Maryland's lax abortion regulations and celebrating the infant deaths they've led to, all before urging readers to continue advocating for more baby murders.
Author Christina Cauterucci wrote about Maryland’s uniqueness in that the state currently includes a law that “shields patients and providers from abortion bans in other states.”
Cauterucci cited Katie Quiñonez-Alonzo, an abortionist who was the executive director of the last remaining abortion clinic in West Virginia. After Roe v. Wade was overturned, she searched for places to get around her state's rules and help locals to get abortions, finally landing on Maryland.
“We felt like it was really, truly a duty, if we share a border with this state, that we should do everything in our power to try to keep abortion as accessible as possible to West Virginians,” she told Slate
Quiñonez-Alonzo and her team set up a location in Maryland just two miles across from the West Virginia border, “smack-dab in the middle of an abortion desert,” where they committed to providing abortions up to 16 weeks gestation. At this point in a pregnancy, a baby's eyes are in the right place and they can wiggle their fingers and toes. Some moms can even feel their baby kick at this stage, yet Quiñonez-Alonzo still think it's okay to kill the child.
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) recently signed a new law that prohibits state authorities from helping other states investigate abortion-related cases if the abortion takes place in Maryland. To make things worse, in Maryland, you don’t even have to be a doctor to give a woman an abortion - all it takes is a license as a physician's assistant or even a nurse midwife to kill a kid. Geez, they’re letting anyone in these days.
The Slate article also mentioned two other pro-aborts who've opened a clinic in Maryland, with one saying it's all part of her “five- and 10- and 20-year plans” for her life. She and her co-accomplice also boasted about performing elective abortions in the third trimester, which many leftists continue to insist don't happen.
"We were like, listen, we think Roe is going to fall,” one of the abortionists said. “We know how to do later abortion. There are very few clinics that do it. Why not us? Why not now?”
The pair opened their clinic in College Park and, as Slate celebrated, have “served patients from more than 30 states."
It’s rather disturbing that Slate so boldly proclaims the “need” for unrestricted abortion access. People should be working to save lives, not end them. But then again, I can’t exactly confirm these people's brains are screwed on correctly.
I’ll leave you with the quote from one of the pro-aborts Slate highlighted about how awesome Maryland is for abortion: “We’re talking about the five-year plan involving some bigger space and more staff, and we want to continue to hire. I tell my dad, who’s conservative, that I’m a job creator now, so I’d like to create more jobs.”
Yeah because killing babies is how people make a living these days.
SICKENING.
