On Thursday evening’s Deadline: White House, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace joined MSNBC contributor Carol Leonnig to mull over just how unfortunate it was for liberals that the multiplying prosecutions against Donald Trump looked like a collection of Democrat attempts to keep him from winning the presidential race.
Wallace seemed upset that wouldn't succeed, because there's so many prosecutions and hostile reports: "So much scandal, we won't pay attention to all of it. So much criminality, we'll become numb to any of it. What do you make of this excellent body of reporting?"
She then accused Trump of being a kamikaze trying to “blow everything up” and asked if people should not start to think of Trump prosecutions in "organized crime" terms.
Leonnig lamented that “Donald Trump has excellently and expertly persuaded a lot of his supporters and his voters that the effort to target him is an effort to target them and their wishes, that they and their wishes will be dashed because prosecutors are trying to derail his presidency by coming at him at this time.”
So she expects people to be convincted that the Biden Department of Justice, along with other Democrats such as New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg, just randomly all brought all these indictments against Trump right before the election? Sure.
All these indictments and lawsuits are just a good faith effort to enforce the rule of law. Right. Totally believable, perhaps, for liberal wine mom Nicolle Wallace.
And of course the fact that this message resonated with so many Trump fans (or Biden foes) was just an unfortunate coincidence, not the fact it really was Democrats trying to use legal battles to take Trump out of the race.
Wallace then slurred: “There's never a good time to charge Donald Trump because he's a kamikaze politician. You come for him over crimes he doesn't actually ever deny committing and he'll blow everything up and burn it all down. And I wonder if we make a mistake by not drawing more parallels to organized crime prosecutions…”
She must have been drinking some hard liquor, because she actually just admitted that they were actually coming for Trump. Whether he committed crimes or not is for a jury to decide, though, not the media. Not being satisfied by comparing a former President of the United States to WWII Japanese fighter pilots who committed suicide as they crashed their planes into Allied warships, she also had the audacity to say he should be compared to the Mafia.
This segment really gave a good look into the liberal psyche; it was amazing to see Wallace’s outrageous comparisons and delusional narrative that the Democrats’ lawfare against Trump had nothing to do with keeping Trump out of the election.

NICOLLE WALLACE: Carol Leonnig, I have very mixed feelings about this story and this body of reporting which is all completely accurate, completely newsworthy. But I feel like the volume business has always served Trump. So much scandal, we won't pay attention to all of it. So much criminality, we'll become numb to any of it. What do you make of this excellent body of reporting?
CAROL LEONNIG: There's a lot to chew on, isn't there? And when you put up the calendar, it’s sort of, we all as reporters are kind of dumbstruck by how much criminal exposure Donald Trump has had, but for all of them to collide as they have, basically as the country and political parties get ready to elect the next president, this is not ideal. It is not the ideal time that prosecutors want to be bringing cases of criminality.
They never knew they would be charging a former president. That's never happened before, but now we can say, you know, more than one and done. Maybe we'll be four and done. We'll see. I think that one of the problems for prosecutors, federal prosecutors in particular is that Donald Trump has excellently and expertly persuaded a lot of his supporters and his voters that the effort to target him is an effort to target them and their wishes, that they and their wishes will be dashed because prosecutors are trying to derail his presidency by coming at him at this time.
If these charges had been brought far in advance of this particular political cycle, then it would be just ever so slightly more difficult for Donald Trump to say that the Department of Justice is weaponized against him, but it is playing quite well for him at the moment. And I think he will continue to beat that drum as long as he's getting a receptive audience.
You saw, Nicolle, people cheering as he said, you know “when they indict me, they're trying to indict you.” When -- sort of a version of when they come for me, they're coming for you. And that has made it very personal and made it a real sort of battle cry that has been received very, very well by his supporters.
WALLACE: Glenn Kirschner, I have -- I never disagree with Carol Leonnig. I have a slightly, not a different view, but a different perspective on this. There's never a good time to charge Donald Trump because he's a kamikaze politician. You come for him over crimes he doesn't actually ever deny committing and he'll blow everything up and burn it all down. And I wonder if we make a mistake by not drawing more parallels to organized crime prosecutions and examining how the country gets through this.
