Back in March, World Athletics - the international governing body for track and field - banned transgender females from competing in the women’s category. That means that in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, you won’t see men beating out women for medals.
Most people find this necessary and good, such as World Athletics president Sebastian Coe.
“Decisions are always difficult when they involve conflicting needs and rights between different groups, but we continue to take the view that we must maintain fairness for female athletes above all other considerations,” Coe said.
He added that his organization’s highest priority in this decision was maintaining “fairness for female athletes above all other considerations.”

Praise be! There are powerful figures in sports that understand that transgender’s feelings are not more important than making sure women can compete against each other fairly.
But that doesn’t mean transgenders aren’t upset by the decision. French sprinter Halba Diouf said he felt targeted because he can’t compete against women.
“I cannot understand this decision as transgender women have always been allowed to compete if their testosterone levels were below a certain threshold,” Diouf said.
“The only safeguard transgender women have is their right to live as they wish, and we are being refused that, we are being hounded … I feel marginalized because they are excluding me from competitions.”
Oh come on, spare me the sob story.
Society has indulged the fact that Diouf wanted to call himself a woman - which doesn’t really make you one.
Diouf is still a man, and World Athletics understands that he poses a huge problem for women because of his physical advantages. Even with the lowered testosterone levels, Diouf is still shattering women’s records left and right.
During the 200m race at a track event in France on Sunday, Diouf’s time was the 9th-fastest women’s 200m time ever recorded in French history.

You think maybe this is why people aren’t letting him compete at the Olympics? Countless female track athletes who have rigorously trained for several years could see their work rendered void by a man who thinks he’s a woman. Fortunately, World Athletics has done something about that.
Don’t fall for Diouf’s attempt to make you think he’s the victim. The only thing he’s a victim of is his own delusions.
