Exactly 30 days after February 16, the Department of Defense’s new pro-abortion policies will be enacted.
On Feb. 16, the DoD issued a press release titled, “DoD Releases Policies to Ensure Access to Non-Covered Reproductive Health Care.” In layman's terms, it should be titled, “Biden’s DoD releases more measures to ensure more innocent babies are slaughtered.”
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s memorandum was released in October to ensure that military personnel can kill their babies easily so that “the Force remains ready and resilient.” This release further drives that directive.
The Feb. 16 specified guidance allows for travel costs to be covered, at taxpayer expense, for military personnel seeking abortions and who can't obtain the procedure where they live, whether because of state laws or because there are no abortion clinics around. It also grants them time off and confidentiality as to why they'd be on leave, and includes the following:
- Change to notification standards – service members will have until 20 weeks to notify their commanding officer of a pregnancy.
- Administrative absence of up to 21 days for elective abortions.
- Establishment of travel allowances to cover expenses surrounding the non-covered abortion.
It’s essentially a push for more and more abortions at any time, at any place and for any reason.
In response to the initial directive, Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) pointed out how clearly anti-life this policy is before promising he’d place a hold on it.
And, as pointed out by LifeNews, the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America group condemned the DoD’s efforts.
“The DOD has long been a conduit for establishing and protecting freedom at home and abroad, defending vulnerable people from forces seeking to diminish their dignity, value, and even their very lives. Yet, as the acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs admitted to you, this new policy will facilitate the cruel deaths of approximately 4,100 vulnerable unborn children every year,” SBA said in a release late last month.
It’s honestly a shame that Biden’s DoD is so devaluing of life. Our troops fight daily for our rights as American citizens, and the first right we are deserving of is the right to life. The DoD should be encouraging troops to value all life, which starts in the womb.
