Noah Mocks Biden's Latest Gaffe, Other Late Night Hosts Ignore

September 29th, 2022 11:07 AM

Of the six regular late night comedians, only Comedy Central’s The Daily Show host Trevor Noah used his Wednesday show to highlight President Biden’s latest gaffe where he sought out Rep. Jackie Walorski, who died in a car crash in August.

After running down a list of what he considers to be Biden’s accomplishments, Noah declared, “In fact, many people are actually saying that Biden might have a really good shot at winning a second term in office. All he needs to do though is avoid doing stuff like this.”

After playing a clip of the gaffe, Noah continued to highlight the awkwardness of the situation, “No, no, Joe what are you doing? That's so awkward, and his explanation didn't help, you know, he’s like “of course I knew Jackie wasn't there, I was looking for Jackie Kennedy where's Jackie Kennedy, where--where are you, Jackie, where's Jackie O.”

Choosing to look on the bright side of life, Noah continued, “Look, I mean, I guess on the up side at least he noticed she wasn't there. This is a good thing. Yeah, it could’ve been much worse if he was like ‘where’s Jackie? Oh, there she is, there’s Jackie, everyone look at Jackie.’”

Continuing with the sarcastic optimism, Noah concluded, “And look I know a lot of people are saying this is another example of Biden's brain being foggy but I think if anything, this makes Biden a better president. Yeah, think of how hard he must be working to keep Americans safe knowing that Osama Bin Laden is still out there somewhere. ‘Where is he, where is he, Jack where is he?’”

While Noah highlighted Biden’s latest moment of indignity, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and Seth Meyers all ignored it. Meanwhile, James Corden discovered what he considers to be Biden’s “biggest gaffe yet”: not holding a conference with the leaders of various Pacific island countries in Fiji. Ultimately, he also ignored the real gaffe.

TREVOR NOAH:  In fact, many people are actually saying that Biden might have a really good shot at winning a second term in office. All he needs to do though is avoid doing stuff like this.

MALE REPORTER: An awkward moment for President Biden today at a White House conference. While calling out people in the audience he accidentally included Indiana Congresswoman Jackie Walorski who was killed in a car crash over the summer.

JOE BIDEN: I want to thank all of you here including bipartisan elected officials like Representative McGovern, Senator Braun, Senator Booker, Representative-- Jackie, you here? Where’s Jackie? I don't think she was -- she wasn’t going to be here—to help make this a reality.

NOAH: No, no, Joe what are you doing? That's so awkward, and his explanation didn't help, you know, he’s like “of course I knew Jackie wasn't there, I was looking for Jackie Kennedy where's Jackie Kennedy, where--where are you, Jackie, where's Jackie O.”

Look, I mean, I guess on the up side at least he noticed she wasn't there. This is a good thing. Yeah, it could’ve been much worse if he was like “where’s Jackie? Oh, there she is, there’s Jackie, everyone look at Jackie.”

People are like “There’s no Jackie” “she’s there everyone sees Jackie.” And look I know a lot of people are saying this is another example of Biden's brain being foggy but I think if anything, this makes Biden a better president. Yeah, think of how hard he must be working to keep Americans safe knowing that Osama Bin Laden is still out there somewhere. “Where is he, where is he, Jack where is he?”
